The rarest of the rare is getting a Uttama Guru. When you have a Guru, you can peacefully rest.

 

How do we know that the Guru is pleased with us?

 

No one else pleases me the most than the ones who Chant Mahamantra!

 

When a disciple leads his life with the clear understanding that it is the Guru who is running his life - adverse or otherwise, completely emptying the mind of personal likes and dislikes, seeing everything as Guru's leela, attains realization

 

Guru's Word is the root of Mantra

 

God is for all. Each and everyone have the right to attain God. Bhagavan Nama japa is the universal way

 

'Gurohu anugrahenaiva puman puranah prasantaiye'

 

We would feel that there is none as rich as we are because we have got such a Guru Ratnam

 

Bhakti is all about showing gratitude.

 

It is the Guru who shows that way, and the gratitude shown to such a Guru is Guru Bhakti

 

How to show our gratitude to our Guru?

 

The only act a true devotee can do is to chant Nama to express the gratitude to the Guru for the grace showered on the devotee.

Mavuli Gnaneshwar Maharaj says, "The body of those who sing HARIPATA by their mouth gets purified. By the powerful effect of this penance (recital of Hari's name) their home becomes verily the Vaikunta (Divine abdode of Lord), that will endure for ages and ages.

 

By chanting His name, even one's parents, brothers, and other loved ones will become united with god.

 

Jnanadev says: The secret of His Name's infinite power was laid in my hands by my Guru, Sri Nivruththinatha.

A good family is a family which chants Nama regularly

 

Chanting the Mahamantra in one's home alone or with Family members and friends daily is the best service one can do to me.

 

Thirumangai Ãzhwãr gives a big list about fruits of Namakirtan

 

Wherever the chanting of Năma is performed, wherever a japa is done, a wave is created. The atmospheric wave here is very calm.

மனதின் ஓட்டங்கள், நம் கையில் இல்லை. சும்மா இருந்தால், மனது அதனுடைய வேலையை காட்ட ஆரம்பிக்கும்.  ஆகவே,அதற்கு இடம் கொடுக்கக்கூடாது என்று ஆசைப்பட்டால், விடாமல் மஹாமந்திர கீர்த்தனம் சொல்லி வா. இது சுலபமானது. மனது கண்ட படி ஓடி புதிய வாசனைகளை சேர்த்துக்கொல்வதையும், சம்பாதித்த வாசனைகளை திடமாக்கிக் கொள்வதையும்,இது சுலபத்தில் தடுத்துவிடும். அந்த அளவிற்கு எதிர்கால துக்கம் குறையும்.

 

We do not have control over the thoughts that arise in our mind. When we are idle, mind starts to play its game. If we do not want the mind to go astray, one should chant the Mahamantra kirtan incessantly. This is the easiest path.

 

This easily helps the mind not to run astray and accumulate any new latent impressions (vasanas) and prevents the latent impressions already formed to get hardened. Thus it helps to reduce our future sufferings.

If you sincerely pray to get the obstacle removed, your prayer shall be fulfilled

 

To protect one from five senses one need to keep a vigilant watchman or a ferocious dog and that is nothing but the divine names of the Lord.

 

The Mahamaya (greatest illusion), the mind, can be brought under control slowly and steadily by Namakirtan alone.

 

Drench your senses in the enchanting form of Krishna, His stories, His glory and His Divine Name. The mind is effortlessly controlled!

 

What is difficult for human beings? The constant control of the mind.

 

The name of God is more powerful than the senses. It will become all right in time if you practise regularly.

 

If we think of God and pray to Him for His guidance and His grace, we shall derive strength to battle against these temptations and conquer our weaknesses

 

Likewise, never once does a true disciple doubt, if his Guru has conquered his senses!

 

If the mind troubles?

 

"It is all right even if you do not hold your senses under control. Keep doing Năma Sankirtan. The 'indriyăs' (senses) will automatically come under control!"

The Sadhaka should, in the first place, be fired with an intense aspiration for his spiritual regeneration and the attainment of the highest goal - God. Then, contact of saints should follow. The ego, having its sway on him, refuses to yield and sets up all kinds of obstacles on his path. It often poses as the Supreme Himself and leads him astray.

 

At the beginning the Sadhaka finds it hard to distinguish the divine guidance from the promptings of the mere mind.

 

The method, by adopting which he can safely progress on the divine path, is to surrender himself entirely to the all-powerful God within him by constantly thinking of Him and His attributes. It is by constant remembrance of Him alone that he develops the needed soul-force to put down the mind and its machinations and rise superior to it. Instead of being the slave of the mind, he should be the master of it.
