To surrender to Him, by a ceaseless remembrance of His name and His glory, is to enjoy immortal bliss and peace.

Nama Article 24th November 2017

Source: The Vision - EPISTLES OF SWAMI RAMDAS

May Sri Ram bless you all. Sri Ram, the Supreme Lord of the Universe, is a veritable ocean of kindness and love. He is ever seated in our hearts. To surrender to Him, by a ceaseless remembrance of His name and His glory, is to enjoy immortal bliss and peace. He is the sole doer. We are merely instruments. We are the children; He is our Divine Mother. We are His and He is ours, for ever and for ever.

Being born of Him, we are one with Him. We live in Him; He lives in us. He and we mingle indistinguishably; and we are all He, the Supreme, the One Eternal Reality.

Swami Papa Ramdas

Self-dedication or self-surrender is the last stage. You cannot achieve it at one stroke. You have to bring it about gradually. First, devote some definite period of time to the exclusive thought of God. Chant His name. Sing of Him. Meditate on His greatness.

Talk to Him — as you would to your mother — placing all your doubts and difficulties, weakness and impurities before Him and He will wash you clean. Let the talk, the prayer and the appeals be all sincere and whole-hearted!

Repetition of God’s Name is the surest means of effecting such a surrender. That is all.

Complete and unqualified submission to the Divine will is self-surrender.

***

Complete surrender to God's will brings about a total transformation of His devotee.

***

Surrender does not mean inaction. Surrender is action done on a Divine plane.

***

God-realization is the goal of life. Surrender is the way. Repetition of God's Name is the surest means of effecting such a surrender. That is all.

Making intense efforts to know the efficacy of Ram Nam chanting

Nama Article 19th November 2017

Swami Papa Ramdas - POINTS FOR DAILY SADHANA

"God is within you. This is the central truth from which you have to start for knowing and realizing Him. You should feel that you are ever living and moving in His being and be aware of His presence with you always."

1. Making intense efforts to know the efficacy of Ram Nam chanting as a means to expand our love-circle outwardly, and to move towards Him internally.

2. Practising Nama Japa and stilling the mind before starting the activities of the day and before retiring to bed.

3. Keeping up regularity in all that we do.

4. Putting in efforts to feel the presence of God (as static aspect in the form of Awareness-Absolute inside, and the dynamic aspect in the form of Life-Force outside).

5. Bringing in additions to improve our Sadhana. (e.g.: Trying to identify the spiritual dimension in all objects, persons and circumstances; developing a positive attitude, etc.).

6. Striving to gain supremacy over our sense organs on the sense objects and thus enhancing the will-power (Vairagya).

7. Repeating daily affirmations (e.g.: "I am not alone, You are with me!"; "I am THAT and not this assemblage of five elements", etc.).

8. Establishing contact with the Indwelling Reality through daily inner dialogue (soliloquy) and writing letters (and tearing them up).

9. Practising excellence through total involvement in every action that is done, from the smallest to the biggest.

10. Self-monitoring to ascertain whether the dominance of 'Me' and 'Mine' is reducing.

"The world is indeed a school of experience. By continuous friction with it we learn where we stand and what we are."

When the tongue sings His Name, That voice is the voice of God.

Nama Article 15th November 2017

Source: The Vision - Swami Papa Ramdas

WHEN the heart burns at the sufferings of others,

That is God's own heart.

When eyes strain to see others happy,

Through them God Himself sees.

When hands toil for others' relief,

These hands move only by God's will.

When the tongue sings His Name,

That voice is the voice of God.

Such is a Saint — God's own image!

When we tune ourselves with the Name, we tune ourselves with God.

Nama Article 19th October 2017

Swami Papa Ramdas

When we tune ourselves with the Name, we tune ourselves with God.

That is the purpose of repeating the Mantra; without it the repetition becomes merely mechanical and does not help us in any way.

Nama Article 15th October 2017

Swami Papa Ramdas

The disciples can look within and get guidance only if they stop looking upon somebody outside for guidance. What is needed is that you should turn your mind within.

The Name is the link between the devotee and God. It brings the devotee face to face with Him

Take His name for a long time and then sit for meditation. Meditation will then become very easy.

Nama Article 13th October 2017

Swami Papa Ramdas

Take His name for a long time and then sit for meditation. Meditation will then become very easy. You will find that the mind disappears in no time; you will forget the body and become conscious that you are the Atman.

By constantly taking His name you will have your mind purified and the practice develops into Smaran or remembrance of God.

Try for yourself by taking the Name constantly with full faith. Everything is in Ram Nam.

Nama Article 6th October 2017

Swami Papa Ramdas

Devotee: I repeat Ram Nam, but there is no progress.

Papa: If you really want it, you will get it. Where there is demand, there is supply. Ramdas himself hungered for the Truth, went to saints and got it. If he had no hunger he would not have got it. They cannot do anything for you if you are not receptive. You must feel the want. You must have a burning thirst for it. The condition is "hunger for God". You have seen so many saints. How is it that nobody was able to do anything for you?

Devotee: A saint can do what he likes. You must give me that thirst.

Papa: Ramdas is trying his best to see that everybody is awakened, but nobody responds. Otherwise, he would have transformed the whole world in a second. Do constant repetition of Ram Nam with full faith in Ramdas' words. Then you will get everything in course of time.

Devotee: Papa should give it. He has the power to give.

Papa: Ramdas is giving, but nobody is prepared to take. You are full of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, etc. There is no place inside. You must leave the ego and surrender to the Guru. The more you repeat Ram Nam with faith and devotion, the more you will become ready to receive the grace of the Guru. You must do the Sadhana and utterly surrender to God. At once you will realize God. Try for yourself by taking the Name constantly with full faith. Everything is in Ram Nam.

Ram Nam chanted by children has so much power. Even if they give exaggerated figures of Japa done by them, I attach more importance to their Ram Nam than to that of the grown-ups. When chanting RamNam, children do so with all faith and concentration while the grown-ups have their minds running in different directions. Beloved Papa, therefore, hearkens to children's prayers.

Utterance of God’s Name is to make the mind ultimately still, free from all thoughts

Nama Article 1st October 2017

Swami Papa Ramdas

Utterance of God's Name is to make the mind ultimately still, free from all thoughts. In that stillness it is that you know and realize God. In that stillness, duality is transcended and the repeater and the repeated — devotee and God — become one.

Doing all things in His name brings you still in closer communion with him. Every unfavorable circumstance should all the more steel your purpose and strengthen your will.

Nama Article 27th September 2017

Swami Papa Ramdas

Prayer is an invaluable means of keeping an intimate contact with Him. Taking His name fills your mind with His remembrance. Doing all things in His name brings you still in closer communion with him. But in all that you do for Him, you ought to be brave.

Obstacles should not daunt you. Every unfavorable circumstance should all the more steel your purpose and strengthen your will. You should be calm and determined, for you have to put up a stiff fight with all the subversive forces that seek to keep you in the thralldom of a relative arid ignorant life.

When our longing to realise Him is intense, He comes to our rescue, without any doubt. He is the friend of the meek.

Nama Article 22nd September 2017

Swami Papa Ramdas

The prompter of action is He; the doer also is He. It is He in movement, as also in rest. There is none but He. …God's name is most powerful. It dispels ignorance and gives knowledge. It breaks bondage and brings freedom. It destroys sorrow and yields bliss. The knowledge, freedom and bliss we realise are eternal. God is our father, mother, master, friend and all. …When our longing to realise Him is intense, He comes to our rescue, without any doubt. He is the friend of the meek.

Take heart, beloved Ram. It is His will that you are what you are, and where you are. Submit to His will and be peaceful and cheerful.
