Those who chant the Mahamantra even once in this Kali Yuga are assured of 'Moksha' (liberation)

Lord Krishna's auspicious Name even once heard or uttered destroys all evils or inauspiciousness. This Bhagavatha Dharma is founded and established by Lord Sri Krishna which protects the entire world.

I have uttered the name of God; I have repeated the name of Rama or Hari. How can I be a sinner?' One must have faith in the glory of God's name

The Master had the faith of a child. He immediately pointed out, 'Then why is there dirt on my body?' Krishnakishore explained, 'The inner impurities go away and not the external dirt.'

The glory of the Divine Names cannot be understood by logic, reasoning or argument

If you utter the Divine Name of the Lord, it will eliminate all your sins without leaving any residue.

Any person who Chants the Name of Krishna even only once, no matter, whether said devoutly or disdainfully, would cross the ocean of life.

Sri Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swamigal extols the greatness of Chanting the Divine Name of Lord Shiva by quoting the below mentioned Sloka in Srimad Bhagavatha

Japa even once uttered has its own good effect, whether the individual is aware or not.

Lord Rama says, "I vouch safe security against all living beings to one who comes to me only once and seeks protection (from me), saying " Rama, I am yours", such is my vow"

Spiritual success is dependent on oneself and not on the environment.

Nama Article 27th September 2013

In the story of Prahlada, the son of the demon-king Hiranyakasipu, Prahlada had the worst imaginable domestic environment in which even taking the Lord's name constituted the most unforgivable offence. But, heedless of the sufferings heaped on him such as being poisoned, being pierced by the sharp weapons of his father's attendants, being pushed down from a mountain-top, being roasted in a fire, etc. Prahlada openly continued chanting the Lord's name and defied his father, the demon-king. Eventually the Lord had to take the form of Narasimha (half-lion, half-man) and appear before him. Environment being determined by Prarabdha (past actions), irrespective of whether the environment is conducive or not, one should persistently continue with one's Sadhana. Spiritual success is dependent on oneself and not on the environment. As one progresses with one's Sadhana, automatically a day will come when the environment will also become favourable. (All the directions – i.e. the entire atmosphere – are peaceful and joyous).

For a man having nothing, controlled, peaceful, even-tempered and self-content all the directions are pleasant.

Anyone of the above can hit you any moment Yearn for freedom from this shackle of life just as you would yearn for safety/freedom while caught in a hijacked aircraft.

The time lost cannot be gained back. If you fail to make use of the freedom ('swatantra') here you will not be able to achieve the required goal

Everything in our life is predetermined. All we have to do is to turn and fix our mind on Him!

The only will we have is the freeing will of choosing to chant whenever we find mind wandering

We can resign ourselves to the Will of God and keep away our egosense, only by a continuous remembrance of God

If there is faith, then there is no fate.

Chanting the Divine Name can change the fate

Words of wisdom by a great Gnani and a true bhaktha

You should not only accept from the bottom of your heart the situation that the Lord keeps you in but also be grateful to Him for that because it is verily the Lord's blessing!

If one does not chant the divine Name of the Lord, the Lord will not interfere with his life. If he does chant the Name of God continuously, the Lord makes his life favorable to him.

One should constantly repeat the names of God irrespective of any activity that he might be involved in.

The one who has no expectations on wordly desires and who has accepts everything as the Will of the Lord Vasudeva is a supreme devotee

It is said that Lord Krishna became a debtor, unable to discharge his debt to Draupadi who called His name and wept while being disgraced in public by Duryodhana and with Dussasana trying to disrobe her. Krishna used to soliloquise: "Draupadi had to call me as Govinda loudly as I was then living a good distance away at Dvaraka. She has thus put me in a heavy debt which is growing day by day and I am unable to forget it.''

While Krishna has taken care of all worldly necessities why should one seek another deity's help? Sri Krishna whom you worship will bless you with all round welfare.

Chaitanya Mahăprabhu, a great scholar that he was, threw away everything and took to incessant chanting of 'eka năma'. Let the Name of the Lord play on your tongue always because only then will it come to you at the moment of crisis-just as Draupadi called out to Krishna

Rama is the help of the helpless. Surdas says that when a man has exhausted all his resources and invokes the Name of God, His grace descends upon him.

If you want to do any good for your country, Chant the Mahamantra Kirtan for them.

Social service is akin to the former whereas spiritual transformation (by way of Chanting the Nama) is like treating at the root.

The root of satyagraha is in prayer……… Satyagraha teaches us the art of living as well as dying

Real tolerance, real national integration and compassion can come about only through such Mahans who have attained Oneness with God.

The one who chants the Divine Names of the Lord is above all religions and castes

Serve the elders, poor and needy and people in misery. That is verily Guru Seva.

Salokya, Saroopya, Sameepya, Sayujya

Nama Article 23rd September 2013

Source: Salokya, Saroopya, Sameepya, Sayujya

Saalokya, Saaroopya, Saameepya and Saayujya is generally explained as —-

When a person worships [does upaasana of] a Deity he attains to the world/plane [loka] of that Deity.  This is called 'Saalokya'.

He then attains 'Saaroopya' – i.e. he attains the form of that Deity.

Then, he attains 'Saameepya' i.e he attains proximity to that Deity.

Finally, he becomes one with that Deity 'Saayujya'.

Sri Swamiji explains this in a very wonderful way:

When a person does incessant chanting of a Naama in the same place, divinity is created in that place around him. This is verily 'Saalokya' [same loka]. That is he attains to that world/loka, here. He then attains the beauty of that Deity or in the case of the worship of a Guru, his gait, talk and everything else becomes just like that of the Guru – 'Saaroopya' [same form]. Then, the Deity comes into his heart, which is verily 'Saameepya' [proximity] and finally he becomes one with 'It' and that is 'Saayujya.

These are not really external factors as deemed but happen wherever the Nama is chanted incessantly in one place.'

My Devotees are content with serving Me with Loving Devotion

The ultimate result of singing God's names is unconditional love towards one and all.

The service that God has entrusted upon your shoulders is to lend them to me!

If it is even possible for you to make one other person chant the Mahamantra, that is the greatest service you can do to Him

To have the opportunity to serve a Mahatma in some way is indeed the rarest of the rarest.

So if you keep chanting Mahamantra, actually the Guru reaches you!

Take the Name constantly. That is the best Seva.

But if I can make a person chant the name of Hari, I consider this a bigger achievement............

To collect people living around one's home and help them chant the Lord's Name is verily service to the Guru. Or to follow the special instruction given to him/her by the Guru is verily 'service' to the Guru.

Serve the elders, poor and needy and people in misery. That is verily Guru Seva.

By going on filling up our Chitta with constant remembrance of God or Self and taking Lord's name constantly, they will seep and saturate our heart

Nama Article 22nd September 2013

Source: Srimad Bhagavatham : Its Message for the Modern Man by Swami Shantananda Puri Maharaj

We should not be unduly worried about and dwell constantly on the elimination of our defects like passion, desires, anger, greed. By going on filling up our Chitta with constant remembrance of God or Self and taking Lord's name constantly, they will seep and saturate our heart in and around and by the sheer weight strangle all the Vasanas (latent tendencies) by throttling them to natural death.

Please check these: Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

Anger is an outburst of emotions, which are nothing but thoughts in the mind. Mind can be controlled by dealing with the situation from a practical standpoint with 'viveka' or discrimination.

If we put some ant-repellant around the sweets, the ants cannot get inside to the sweets. Similarly, lust, anger and fear would constantly pester our mind. We cannot avoid the attack of these on our mind by our intelligence.

Don't worry. Just like hunger and thirst, lust is also inborn. No doubt, we have to overcome it. But it is not as easy as we think. It will not be gone one fine morning. It will happen slowly and will take time. Constant prayers and chanting will help this happen

O my soul, remember thy God, thy years are rolling by without His sacred name

In the field of battle the fight has begun in right earnest and passion, anger, pride and ambition are the foes to be fought.

When a disciple sheds all the adverse modes of the mind like kama (desire), krodha (anger) etc. and completely leads his life with the clear understanding that it is the Guru who is running his life

Leaving the desires and anger, bless me to sing your divine names.

Repeat His name, and sins will disappear. Thus you will destroy lust, anger, the desire for creature comforts, and so on

There are passion and anger too like two huge mountains on either side. Without the Master, who can show the path?

Just as soap cleanses the cloth of its impurities, so also the mantra is a spiritual soap cleansing the mind. Just as fire cleanses gold of its impurities, so also mantra cleanses the mind of its impurities.

Wash out the thoughts of Concupiscence, anger, pride, greed and attachment from your mind.

Vaishnav is the one who has been addicted to the elixir of the name of God

If you become that anxious on forgetting to chant the Divine Name even for a second, then you are blessed.

The sun generally remains in the sky through out the day. All of a sudden if it disappears in the middle of the day how much fear and confusion it shall cause ? If you become that anxious on forgetting to chant the Divine Name even for a second, then you are blessed. Keep repeating the Lord's Name till you attain such intense eagerness in His Name.

Though he has performed such regnant (mighty) tasks, he hasn't diverged himself from uttering the Rama Nama even for a split of a second.

As your heart beats as you sleep, dream or being awake let your tongue always Chant the Divine Names of Hari.

At the same time performing activities without spiritual practices is meaningless. We should learn to be like Hanuman by balancing both types of activities.

To achieve this goal I try to chant His name but am not able to do it continuously because it is involved in worldly activities

Chanting the Name of Răma, Hanuman crossed the ocean! -- and, lifted the mountain!

Mountain sized sorrows melt away like the fog!

Catch hold of this divine Name and go on doing your work in the world.

While you concentrate on your studies and prepare yourself for your future, you also need God's grace.

Hanuman worked tirelessly for Rama. He also performed incessant Rama japa. We should also be like this.

Nothing we earn today would come with us to the final destination but only the Divine Name WILL

Keep Chanting, even while engaged in the activities of the world

One should constantly repeat the names of God irrespective of any activity that he might be involved in

Keep the Name of the Lord spinning in midst of all your activities. Have intense faith in God, and in His Name, know that they are not different.

People perform actions for the sake of happiness; but they neither attain happiness nor succeed in ending their sorrow thereby

Lord Rama says, "Any accumulated wealth will dissolve in due time. Any position of power attained will come to an end. All the relations (children, wife) come to an end in death. There is nothing in this world that is permanent."

Hanuman crossed the Ocean and met Sita. He carried the huge sanjeevi mountain on his mere shoulders. He also built a bridge. Though he has performed such regnant (mighty) tasks, he hasn't diverged himself from uttering the Rama Nama even for a split of a second.

Similarly we shouldn't cast off the spiritual practices by performing external activities. At the same time performing activities without spiritual practices is meaningless. We should learn to be like Hanuman by balancing both types of activities.
