Swami Papa Ramdas

God is a wonder. His name is a greater wonder. As a worm bores through the wood until it makes the inside hollow, the RAM mantra gradually destroys all your desires and purifies you through and through.

By chanting it, a new strength, a new joy and a new light will reveal themselves in you. Then you will realize you are an immortal and radiant Spirit ever identical with God.

We Bhagavathas feel blissful by our devotion to our Kannan which is a result of gush of love towards Him. Even absentminded, will never insult other Gods.

How does Namakirtan eliminate sins and bestows virtues?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

Sastras have said that Namakirtan will eliminate sins and bestow virtues.

Various Mahans have treaded this same path of Bhagavatha Dharma and have attained liberation.

Please check these: Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

The way to Liberation though rational should be a path shown by the Vedas there is no other recourse: all other methods are of no use

The greatness of this Dharma is evident from the fact that it is bestowed by the Lord himself. Moreover, it is very simple. No obstacles can come while adhering this Dharma. We can go blind folded while following this path and even a layman, who knows nothing, can attain the supreme state in spirituality by following this path.

The Sanathana Dharma is universally true. While the Dharma cannot be changed, the alternative is to adapt the right kind of Dharma, apt for the age. That is verily the Bhagavata Dharma, which is nothing but chanting of the Divine Name of God

What is Bhagavata dharma? Showing the way to the Almighty even to the lowliest of the lowly is Bhagavata dharma.

Bhagavata Dharma is a reformation measure indeed!

Would it not amount to grave injustice if one shows a difficult path to the world ?

Therefore, who is a Sadguru? The one who calls all the people in this Kali Yuga and gives the 'upadesa', "Utter the Name of the Lord. You can attain God!" Only such a one is a Sadguru.

We come across many Gurus. Each one of them prescribes a path. Which one should be followed? What is to be done?

All those who are associated with this Sath Sangam should lead the life of Dharma; should do Naama Japam and Naama Sankirtanam every day; should be ever helpful to one and all; should be disciplined and in control always.

He who sings the Chants the Divine Names, With utmost devotion

"Will get fame without fail,

Will be first in what he does,

Will get riches that last,

Would attain salvation from these bonds,

Will never be afraid of anything,

Will be bubbling with vim and valour,

Will not get any ills,

Will be handsome forever,

Will have all the virtues in this wide world,

And he who is ill will get cured,

He who is bound will be free,

He who is afraid, will get rid of fear,

He who is in danger, will be safe."

Having compassion of the Lord as the foundation, the one which has no rules, the one which can eradicate the force of Kali, Namakirtanam is the only resort.

You have wished for 'Dharma', 'Artha' (wealth), 'Kama' (ambitions) and 'Moksha' (God). All these four can be attained by performing service to Lord Sri Hari.

I am not able to find any way other than the repeated chanting of the Divine Names to gain the purushartas of dharma, artha, kama and moksha in this age of Kali

For him who seeks his own good in the shape of what is known by the names of Dharma (religious merit), Artha (wordly riches), Kama (desires) and Moksha (final beatitude), adoration of Sri Hari's feet is the only means to that end.

Who Sings Narayana and Narayana, All his cares would be taken care of.

Nama Article 25th November 2014

Sri Bhagavan says:

I would take care,

Of worries and cares of Him,

Who thinks and serves me,

Without any other Thoughts,

To take care of Dharma,

To protect those who are good,

And to destroy all who are bad.

I will be born from time to time.

If he who is worried,

If he who is sad,

If he who is broken,

If he who is afraid,

If he who is severely ill,

If he who has heard tidings bad,

Sings Narayana and Narayana,

All his cares would be taken care of.

For those men who worship Me alone, thinking of no other, for those ever-united, I secure what is not already possessed and preserve what they already possess.

Food is the first need of Man. While Krishna has taken care of all worldly necessities why should one seek another deity's help? Sri Krishna whom you worship will bless you with all round welfare.

Those who Chant the Divine Names of Hari, Udupi Krishna blesses them with adequate food.

Sri Hari, the bestower of salvation, gives beauty, health, wordly possessions and appropriate enjoyments to those who constantly medidiate on Him.

We should either do bhakti deeply and attain God or be in the world enjoying worldly things. What is the use of remaining in-between ('rendungkettan') the two? -- Neither here nor there?

If you want God alone, why do you accept the existence of anything else ?

If someone forgets the Beloved Lord, even for an instant, what sort of devotion is that?

As your heart beats as you sleep, dream or being awake let your tongue always Chant the Divine Names of Hari.

If you become that anxious on forgetting to chant the Divine Name even for a second, then you are blessed.

One should constantly repeat the names of God irrespective of any activity that he might be involved in

We should Chant and remember the Divine Name every breath we intake and we need not try to do anything else.

kalakshebo na kartavyah, kshenamaayuh kshane kshane, yamasya karuna naasti, kartavyam hari kirtanam.

Every moment of your life should be taken as His gift.  Be rest assured that every incident that happens is by His grace and happens for your well-being.

Guru Nanak felt that it would be improper to postpone Nama Smarana or remembering the Name of the Lord, even by a single breath

The thought that seize out one's mind for life long period would surely, strongly surface during the last breath

That unshakable faith in Rama Nama remained with him till his last breath.

The human body is a rare boon to embodied souls and that too is very transient (momentary, short-lived, temporary)

Your last breath should ensure that this is your last birth

The thought that seize out one's mind for life long period would surely, strongly surface during the last breath. Likewise we ourselves can have a test to determine whether it's possible to have an active remembrance of the lord when our soul departs the body.

This exercise should go on continually until doing japa has become as natural as breathing.

Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God

One should try to satisfy his hunger somehow and engage in the chanting of the Divine Name of Shri Krishna.

One should try to satisfy his hunger somehow and engage in the chanting of the Divine Name of Shri Krishna. Satisfied with whatever they get providentially and through alms, the saints neglect wealth and perform austerity in the forest. The Vaishnavas lead the life of householders accepting alms. Shri Bhagavan takes up on His shoulders the responsibility of their maintenance. Those Bhagavatas who have lost all consideration for the precepts of the Vedas and the opinion of the common people, hate that life which has the only aim of amassing wealth that destroys devotion.
