Sri Sri Swamiji has said about the greatness of Guru Seva. I am not fortunate to be by Sri Swamiji's side to serve Him. How do I perform Guru Seva?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

Serve the elders, poor and needy and people in misery. That is verily Guru Seva.

-------

Global Organisation for Divinity has communicated to various Namadwaars and GOD satsangs to do Annadhanam (serve free food) / give free dresses to people in Old age homes, orphanages, home for mentally / physically challenged care centers, home for destitute women on the occasion of Sri Swamiji's Jayanthi. Namadwaars and GOD satsangs are also adviced to conduct Akanda Nama kirtan for world peace, harmony and a prosperous life for one and all on this auspicious day.

The same was done in a grand manner as Guru Seva by devotees across the globe.

As soon the lamp is taken in, the room is lit up in one stroke. It is the same with Guru's blessings. Our ignorance is removed in one stroke.

Some are family functions, some are religious functions, some are national functions, some are international functions – WHICH IS A UNIVERSAL FUNCTION – Birthday celebrations of a True Mahathma is a UNIVERSAL FUNCTION

Guru's boundless grace is immeasurable, limitless and infinite.

I am not asking you to do giant tasks, but all I ask of you is, let the task be small, but do this with love and sincerity.

We would feel that there is none as rich as we are because we have got such a Guru Ratnam

Only a liberated person can awaken and liberate the person who is ignorant.

The common question that arises in everyone is 'What is essential to attain God – Grace or effort?'

God takes the form of a Guru and appears to the devotee; teaches him the Truth; purifies the mind by his teachings and contact

To remain in the Holy Feet of the Guru as a 'nobody' (zero); to remain like a doll in his hand. This is the only effort that can be taken by us.

Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

Through Guru's grace ('katãksha') even the worst sinner can get ashore - in a moment, just as a room which was dark for thousands of years is immediately lit up by taking a lamp into it. The room is not lit up gradually just because it had remained dark for thousands of years.

As soon the lamp is taken in, the room is lit up in one stroke. It is the same with Guru's blessings. Our ignorance is removed in one stroke.

This is because power is inherent in words. Whatever we keep thinking or uttering would one day turn out to be true in our life.

Nama Article 26th October 2011

Happy Deepavali

Repetition of a word/s a lakh times might be reflected in your action at some point of time; gradually, repetition of words a thousand times gets transformed into action; it then comes down to repetition of words a hundred times, then only ten times and finally in all actions. This is because power is inherent in words. Therefore, do keep listening to Srimad Bhagavatam whether you understand its words or not. Keep reading it. It does bear fruit. One does benefit from it. Do not think, 'oh, I do not understand a word.' Keep listening. It does not matter whether you understand its words or not. It does not matter if there has been a transformation in you or not. Do not degrade yourself with the thought, 'I am useless.' Just as positive words have power, so too, negative words have power. Whatever we keep thinking or uttering would one day turn out to be true in our life. So, our Mahans, in order to cheer us up, have set such days of celebration, worship, etc.

Therefore, if we keep worshipping the Lord, doing Namakirtan and reading the Bhagavatam, every single day would become Deepavali.

Deepavali means 'deepam' - light - 'Ãtma jyoti'

On the auspicious day of Deepavali when taking oil bath in warm water, during the early morning hours is considered as equivalent of dipping in the sacred waters of River Ganga

The service that God has entrusted upon your shoulders is to lend them to me!

Mahans sing that every single day is verily Deepavali for those who have taken refuge in Krishna

Happy Deepavali

Deepavali is a day of celebration and not a day of worship of deities. In our religion some days are days of festival and some days are meant for worship of deities. Deepavali is a day of festivity. This day does not call for worship of any deity. Saraswati puja, Ganesha chaturti are all days of worship. But Deepavali is a day of festivity to bring joy into our hearts and mind. Mahans sing that every single day is verily Deepavali for those who have taken refuge in Krishna. Purandara dasa had thrown away his huge wealth for the sake of the Lord. His children, finding the children in the neighborhood enjoy new dress and other things sheds tears, as they could not enjoy these. Purandara dasa tells them that 'Rama Naama'(the divine name of Rama) is indeed the sugar candy. He says that the day of worship of Lord Krishna is the day of Deepavali.

May everyday be a Deepavali for all through the Grace of the Lord. 'Nitya deepavali' means everlasting joy in one's heart.

Why people did not take to Rama Nama, which is so easy and simple to chant. He puts forth his findings in the following words, "Since it is so easy and simple, none takes to it!" - Bhagawan Nama Bodendra Saraswati Swamigal

Repetition of Name will create Love. Hari will be yours when you attain Love

That love, can sprout only by his grace. His grace descends when we chant the Mahamantra

How can we attain spiritual powers?

By repeatedly chanting the Divine Name of Lord Hari, one attains all siddhis (powers).

Our father, Bhagavan Sri Krishna, is ready and willing to give us, his children, his unbound treasure in the form of jnana (knowledge). To attain that all that we have to do is to lead a life that pleases him.

Just like a son who does not heed his father and runs away from home, some try to attain that Jnana( knowledge) by their own efforts.

The path of Bhakthi is lyrical and full of beauty. That is why it is recommended to all.

The path of Bhakti is, undoubtedly, the easiest of all mărgas to attain Bhagavăn; not only for this Yuga (Age) but also for all Yugăs

"It is all right even if you do not hold your senses under control. Keep doing Nãma Sankirtan. The 'indriyãs' (senses) will automatically come under control!"

Be simple, egoless and innocent like a child and have entire trust in Him, and He is yours. Have His Name on your lips.

Chant and pray with faith to Krishna and this is the easiest way for Divine grace

Guru is like a potter and a disciple is like a pot. A potter hits the pot from outside and provides every support from within.

Bhakti Yoga is an easy path - Sri Ramakrishna

To feel that you are His child be your supreme privilege,
