Meaning

 

If by any chance, a person worships the lotus-feet of Lord Sri Hari by giving up his own duties, falls from that path when he is yet unripe in devotion, will anything inauspicious happen to him anywhere at any point? 

 

On the other hand, what great purpose is achieved by practicing merely one's swadharma by those who do not sing Lord Vasudeva's glories?

 

 

Transliteration

 

tyaktvA svadharma charaNAmbujam harEr

                     bhajannapakvOtha pathEththatO yadI |

 yatra kva vA bhadramabhUdamushya kim

                     kO vArtha ApthObhajatAm svadharmata: ||

 

 

Sloka

 

त्यक्त्वा स्वधर्मं चरणाम्बुजं हरेर्भजन्नपक्वोथ पतेत्ततो यदि ।

 

यत्र क्व वा भद्रमभूदमुष्य किं को वार्थ आप्तोभजतां स्वधर्मत: ॥
