Since Ăndăl has sung ‘Kămam ellăm Kannanidathil’ (All desires are only ‘for Krishna’) Ramanuja was totally drawn to Thiruppăvai.

Nama Article 2nd January 2015

Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji on ThiruppAvai

Every morning Ramanuja would chant Thiruppăvai. Not a day went without his chanting Thiruppăvai. He would chant Thiruppăvai as he went round the temple. He enjoyed Ăndăl's descriptions of the Lord. 'Krishna Krishnaih' - Since Ăndăl has sung 'Kămam ellăm Kannanidathil' (All desires are only 'for Krishna') Ramanuja was totally drawn to Thiruppăvai. He would say, "How charmingly Ăndăl has sung the Lord? "

'Ambara mudarut thongi ulagallanda

Umbarko mane! Urangădu ezhundirăi! Here 'ambaram' means sky - One whose Lotus Feet reached upto the sky/space and measured it ('Ulagallanda')! Since they are singing the praise of 'Trivikrama avatar'-(the praise of the Lotus Feet of the Lord is being sung here) it is understood that they have entered His room and are standing at the Lotus Feet end of the Lord. They are, thus reminded of the great feat of the Lotus Feet! That is the reason they are singing about the Lord's Lotus Feet.

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
