So, even while we chant the Mahamantra, when it is done with prayers, the power of such chanting is immeasurable!

Precious Prayers

Sri Sri Swamiji said, "Right from birth till the end of one's life, our religion teaches us to perform every ritual, which is done for our well-being, with a prayer to the Lord. Certain ceremonies are done even while the baby is in the womb, and certain others like the naming ceremony('Namakarana'), and feeding the child for the first time with rice('Annapraashana') and so on, are done as the child grows. Then there is the 'Upanayana',  marriage and several such rituals which are performed as stated in the Vedas. This goes on till the end and continues even after life departs! At every step, these important ceremonies are accompanied with sincere prayers to the Lord, so that the outcome of such endeavors might be favorable.

Marriages take place everywhere, but when they are done ceremoniously with prayers they become successful. Everyone begets children, but those born after prayers will prove to be a boon to the society. Sri Swamiji aptly compared this with gardening and agriculture. He said, all trees might yield fruits, but those to which manure has been added, yield excellent fruits in plenty. Similarly, all crops yield grains, but not as well as those that have been fertilized.

So, even while we chant the Mahamantra, when it is done with prayers, the power of such chanting is immeasurable!"

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :
