When he continues to chant, with patience and perseverance, eventually his devotion becomes strong enough that the ills of the world don’t affect him any more.

When cattle devour a newly planted mango sapling, it struggles to live and grow more leaves. But surpassing these struggles, when the plant grows into a tree, then the cattle are no more a threat it. Likewise, when one's devotion is in the initial stages, the ills of the world affect him to a large extent.

When he continues to chant, with patience and perseverance, eventually his devotion becomes strong enough that the ills of the world don't affect him any more.

Faith is even greater than God.......Unshakable faith and patience are the two coins that one should offer to Guru as offering

"From this very moment I am going to change my way of life," and began to do japa of Rama Nama incessantly.......The Lord's Name purifies us however sinful a life we might have led.
