We have come to the garden to eat mangoes and not to count the number of trees and leaves

Nama Article 10th July 2008

Devotee:

What is the origin of the world according to the Sankhya philosophy?

Swami Papa Ramdas:

It is too philosophical a question for Ramdas to answer. Ramdas does not know any philosophy. He knows only that the world has come from God and ultimately it goes back to God. As Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa says, `We have come to the garden to eat mangoes and not to count the number of trees and leaves.

' We have come here to realise God, not to waste our time in thinking how and when the world was created. When you go to buy milk, there is no need for you to ask the milkman as to how many cows he has, how much he paid for them, where and how they are fed, etc. Your job is to get the milk and return home.

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
