While worldly matters expand the mind(“manadhai vallarkkum”), the Divine Name of God destroys(“manadhai azhikkum”) it taking one to self-realization.

Though water and ghee are basically liquids, when poured on fire they have opposite actions. Ghee stimulates the fire whereas water extinguishes it completely. It may appear that both worldly matters and the Divine Names are "thoughts'. While worldly matters expand the mind("manadhai vallarkkum"), the Divine Name of God destroys("manadhai azhikkum") it taking one to self-realization.

So a poster was requried which would stop many dirty posters being pasted. By Chanting and listening to Divine names of the Lord various unwanted thoughts that arise and disturb our mind are erased out and new ones do not crop up.

To awaken us to the state of Truth, we need sounds which are above this worldly plane and are established in Reality. These sounds or 'Shabdas' (divine sounds) are mantras like the Mahamantra.

By chanting a particular Name of the Lord repeatedly single-pointedness of the mind is achieved.

If made to engage in japa or dhyana, other thoughts are warded off: and the mind concentrates on a single thought.

Repetition of the same excludes all other thoughts. The single thought of the mantra japa remains.

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
