I am unable to perceive any Murti than Rama in any temple I go to. To me the Murti looks as Rama alone. What can I do?

Rama in All

 

Bhagavan Yogiramsuratkumar used to chant Rama Nama every place and all times.  Whatever temple it may be, he used to chant only the Ram Nam. Once he was sitting in a Ganesha temple as His lips were reciting the Ram Nam.  A devotee said, "Bhagavan! You are sitting in a Ganesha temple and chanting Ram Nam!"

 

Bhagavan replied, "I am unable to perceive any Murti than Rama in any temple I go to.  To me the Murti looks as Rama alone. What can I do?"

I chant the Mahamantra only when I am unable to bear the suffering in my life. I never feel Bhakti or love towards Krishna. Will Krishna help me?

Most certainly. You come to Krishna even only for mundane worldly matters. He is your father, mother, friend, philosopher, Guru, guide and well-wisher. He loves you so much – much more than you love yourselves.

We have come to the world to do allotted works. Then why waste time in useless thoughts and not spend it in chanting the Lord's name and sing His praises.

Question: Should the invocation of the holy Name be supported by meditation? We are living a very nervous existence, and concentration is extremely difficult.

Supposing you have a friend living far away from you and you suddenly remember him, what happens is that his figure comes before your mental vision. So also, when you remember God, the qualities of God will necessarily flash before your mind. When we repeat God's name and we know what God stands for, it is inevitable that these qualities come automatically to our mind. To think of milk is to think also of its qualities. We associate with the Name the qualities of the object. So it follows that when we repeat the Name of God we cannot but meditate on Him.

 

Although in the beginning we might find it difficult to chant the Name continuously or catch it permanently, ultimately we would be able to do so. If we catch the Name, we may not be able to hold on to it for ever, but when the Name catches us, it will never leave us. A piece of sugarcandy lying on the ground attracts ants. The ants draw near it, taste it and go. But they cannot entirely give up sugarcandy and go away. The sweetness of the sugarcandy again attracts them back to it. That is how the Name also attracts us by the bliss that it gives.

Be Regular in Your Spiritual Practice

 

One day I said to the Holy Mother that I could not concentrate well my mind during meditation. My mind was very fickle and unsteady. She smilingly replied, 'Oh, nothing— that is the nature of the mind, just like that of the ears and eyes. Do it regularly. The name of God is more powerful than the senses. It will become all right in time if you practise regularly. Always think of the Master who is looking after you. Don't be worried about your lapses.'

 

I said, 'Mother, bless me that I may practise regularly.'

 

Mother, with a kind smile, told me, 'Be sincere in your practise, words, and deeds. You will feel how blessed you are! His blessings are always on all creatures on the earth. It is needless to ask for it. Practise meditation sincerely and then you will understand His infinite grace. God wants sincerity, truthfulness, and love. Outward verbal effusions do not touch Him. Observe punctuality of time in your practice, take His name, and utter the mantra concentrating your mind with all your might. If you exert yourself sincerely and, banishing all other thoughts, pray to Him from the core of your heart, then your call will be responded to and your prayers granted through His grace."
