The purpose of all rituals and duties is to please the Lord. Nothing else pleases the Lord as much as the chanting of the Divine names. So, chanting the divine names of the Lord is sufficient.

Message from His Holiness Maharanyam Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji for Deepavali and Guru Jayanthi

 

யே வை பகவதா ப்ரோக்தா உபாயா ஹி ஆத்மலப்தயே          

அஞ்ஜ: பும்ஸாமவிதுஷாம் வித்தி பாகவதான் ஹி தான்

(ஸ்ரீமத் பாகவதம் 11:2:34)

 

ஒரே பரமாத்மாவான பகவான் ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ணனை அடைவதற்கு பல விதமான வழிகள் உள்ளன. பகவானும் கீதையில் இவற்றை எல்லாம் விரிவாக அர்ஜுனனுக்கு உபதேசம் செய்கின்றான்.

 

நாம் எல்லோரும் நம் குருநாதரின் அடிச்சுவட்டையே பின்பற்றி பக்தி என்ற வழியில் பகவானின் அருளைப் பெற எப்பொழுதும் கீர்த்தனம் செய்து வருகின்றோம். நாம் பின்பற்றும் இந்த தர்மத்திற்கு பாகவத தர்மம் என்று பெயர்.

 

ஸ்ரீமத் பாகவதத்தில் 11வது  ஸ்கந்தத்தில் நவயோகிகள் உபதேசம் வருகின்றது.

 

அதில் கவி என்ற யோகி மிதிலையை சேர்ந்த நிமி என்ற ராஜாவிற்கு உபதேசம் செய்யும் பொழுது இந்த பாகவத தர்மத்தின் பெருமையை கூறுகின்றார்.

 

இந்த தர்மத்திற்கு உள்ள பெரிய பெருமை என்ன என்றால் இது பாகவனாலேயே உபதேசிக்கப்பட்ட தர்மம். மற்றும் இந்த தர்மம் கடைப்பிடிப்பதற்கு மிகவும் எளிமையானது. இதை கடைபிடிக்கும்பொழுது எந்த இடையூறுகளும் ஏற்படாது. கண்களை மூடிக்கொண்டு இந்த வழியில் செல்லலாம். ஒன்றுமே தெரியாத ஒரு பாமரரும் கூட இந்த வழியினால் ஆன்மீகத்தின் உயர்ந்த நிலையை அடைய முடியும் என்பதே அது.

 

இத்தகைய பெருமைகள் பொருந்திய பாகவத தர்மத்தை உலகம் முழுவதும் எடுத்துச் செல்ல வேண்டும் என்பதே நம் குருநாதரின் ஆசை. அவருடைய ஆசையை பூர்த்தி செய்ய நாம் எல்லோரும் நம்மால் இயன்ற வழிகளில் எல்லாம் பாடுபட்டு வருகின்றோம்.

 

அப்படி பாடு பட்டு வரும் உங்களுக்கு தீபாவளி மற்றும் குரு ஜயந்தி இரண்டுக்கும் சேர்த்து உங்களுக்கும் உங்கள் குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர்களுக்கும் குருநாதரின் அருளாசியை தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கின்றோம்.  "உங்கள் எல்லோருக்கும் எல்லா மங்களங்களும் உண்டாகட்டும்.  நம் குடும்பம் நாம குடும்பம்"

ये वै भगवता प्रोक्ता उपाया ह्य् आत्म-लब्धये

अञ्जः पुंसाम् अविदुषां विद्धि भागवतान् हि तान्

(Srimad Bhagavatham 11:2:34)

 

There are many different ways to attain the Paramathma, Bhagavan Sri Krishna. Sri Krishna himself has explained these ways in detail to Arjuna in Bhagavath Gita.

 

We all follow the footsteps of our Guru Maharaj by holding on to the path of devotion and perform incessant Chanting of the Divine Names to be recipients of the grace of the Lord. The path that we follow is called the "Bhagavatha Dharmam".

 

In the 11^th Canto of Srimad Bhagavatham that details the teachings of the Nava Yogis, the Yogi called Sri Kavi extols the greatness of this "Bhagavatha Dharmam" to Nimi, the King of Mithila.

 

The greatness of this Dharma is evident from the fact that it is bestowed by the Lord himself. Moreover, it is very simple. No obstacles can come while adhering this Dharma. We can go blind folded while following this path and even a layman, who knows nothing, can attain the supreme state in spirituality by following this path.

 

It is the wish of our Guru Maharaj to spread this Bhagavatha Dharma, studded with such glories, through out the world. We all strive earnestly to fulfill His wish.

 

Guru Maharaj blesses every one of you and your family members who have dedicated yourselves to this Divine work on the auspicious occasion of Deepavali and Guru Jayanthi.

A person said , "Look, I shall make that person now turn towards us". He called "Hey Gopala!" and the person turned towards them. He said "I have no connection between my hand and his neck, but I called out his name and he turned towards me." Likewise if we call out the Lord's Name He shall turn towards us.

I surrender untoYou, the worshipful Lord and the best of the Devas, in order to receive instructions of True knowledge. Oh! Bhagavan! Cut asunder the knots of ignorance by the light of Your words and light up the Atma swaroopa!

Thus, with the destruction of 'ajnana' we have taken a new birth today: therefore, like the radiance of light we should attain 'atma prakash' (the radiance of the Atman). This is the philosophy behind Deepavali.

Would a man, even though very wealthy, spend extravagantly for a rented house towards its renovation or on some other ground? He would spend only towards some compelling need. Likewise, beautifying and excessive nourishment are not required for the body which is the little house that the jiva occupies. It would suffice to provide the body with only the essentials.

 

One should devote and Chant the Divine Names of the Supreme embodiment of Truth, the store house of bliss and should not feel attached to any other object; for such attachment brings about the degradation of the soul.
