If you want your Inner and outer self to shine with the light of God’s Blessings, keep the gem-like Rama Nama on the threshold of your tongue.

The Power of Sweet Speech:

Soft Heart creates Soft Words

Unless we mean it, it will be hypocritical or just an act. Goswami Tulsidas says that we must soften our hearts and minds to soften our words and subsequently soften our actions. So, there is a Krama (order) which means one’s heart influences speech and then influences one’s actions. There is a beautiful Doha is Ramcharita Manas which says:

राम-नाम-मनि -दीप धरु, जीह देहरीं द्वार।

तुलसी भी तर बा हेरहुँ, जौं चा हसि उजि आर ॥

If you want your Inner and outer self to shine with the light of God’s Blessings, keep the gem-like Rama Nama on the threshold of your tongue.

So, the Divine name of the Lord is that potent medicine that makes our hearts softer. This is seen when Sri Rama calls Sabari ‘Charu Bhaashini’. Our Guru Maharaj says that the reason for the Lord to call the old Sabari, ‘Charu Bhaashini’, the one who talks sweetly, even at their first encounter is because Sabari had been incessantly chanting Rama Nama. The Nama has the power to refine us. Like medicine cures our illness, even if we are not aware of the chemical compositions, nama is meant to transform us, even if we chant without complete faith. The other reason that Bhagavan called Sabari ‘Chaaru Bhaashini’ was that all that Sabari spoke was the glory of her Guru.

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
