There are ten key Upanishads and a host of other Upanishads.  There is an upanishad that talks about the greatness of the Mahamantra

"Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

 Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare"

 

and this Upanishad is called "Kali Santarana Upanishad".

The one who calls all the people in this Kali Yuga and gives the 'upadesa', "Utter the Name of the Lord. You can attain God!" Only such a one is a Sadguru.

 

Any Divine Name is precious. According to Kali Santarana Upanishad, the 'Hare Rama..' Mahamantra is capable of giving deliverance in this Kali Yuga.

 

Kali Santarana Upanishad comes to our rescue, stating which specific Nama has to be chanted for liberation, in this Age (Kali Yuga).

 

This particular Maha Mantra is prescribed in the Shastras and has been chanted, followed, preached and lived for by great Mahans like Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu

 

It is the essence of all Vedas and scriptures and grants lasting peace by giving deliverance from all sufferings.

 

Utter the Divine names of Lord Hari. In the age of Kali there is no other way of deliverance.

 

Lord Brahma replied "I disclose to you the secret remedy that is mentioned in the scriptures to cross the ocean called worldliness in Kaliyuga."

 

Unlike the other Veda Mantras, the Mahamantra has absolutely no rules and restrictions.

 

எல்லாரும், எக்காலமும், எங்கே வேண்டுமானாலும் சொல்லக்கூடிய அந்த மந்த்ரம், ஹரே ராம ஹரே ராம ராம ராம ஹரே ஹரே ஹரே க்ருஷ்ண ஹரே க்ருஷ்ண க்ருஷ்ண க்ருஷ்ண ஹரே ஹரே என்பதுதான்.
