Srimad Bhagavatham 4:22:40

कृच्छ्रो महान् इह भवार्णवम् अप्लवेशां

षड्-वर्ग-नक्रम् असुखेन तितीर्षन्ति

तत् त्वं हरेर् भगवतो भजनीयम् अङ्घ्रिं

कृत्वोडुपं व्यसनम् उत्तर दुस्तरार्णम्

 

Great agony is experienced in crossing the ocean of metempsychosis – which is infested with fierce crocodiles in the shape of five senses and the mind (Shadvargas - desire, anger, greed, temptation, pride and envy) by those who have not found their boat in God, inasmuch as they seek to reach the other end of it by painful means.

 

Therefore you Chant the Divine Names and make the adorable feet of Lord Sri Hari your boat and cross the ocean of misery, which is difficult to cross.
