The former is more complicated and if you do not do it properly, you can land up with serious mental illnesses.

But, while speaking on Bhakti mãrga, Bhagavãn tells Arjuna, 'na chirãt' - it will not take long. You can attain to Me now, in this very janma.

 

The moment you have started chanting the Nama, you are already on this ship. The Nama is verily the propeller of the ship. The captain of this ship is none other than Sri Krishna Himself!
