Srimad Bhagavatham 12:3:46

 

श्रुतः सङ्कीर्तितो ध्यातः पूजितश् चादृतो'पि वा |

नृणां धुनोति भगवान् हृत्-स्थो जन्मायताशुभम् ||

 

If a person Hears, Chants the Divine Name, meditates upon, worships or even offers great respect to the Supreme Lord, who stays in one's heart, the Lord will remove the sins accumulated during many thousands of lifetimes.
