I have seen people, that they can invoke the souls of Gods /Goddesses which answer devotees questions. What are your views about this?

Why not take to Mahamantra alone and do it in an intense manner with complete faith, instead of confusing yourself with a multitude of practices?

 

One who has no set goal has a wavering mind. His thoughts are multifold......whats the way out?

MAKING YOUR WHOLE BEING AN EAR FOR MANTRA

My way of using the mantra is different from yours, because I do not want to fool around with the process. I sit down, and I observe my whole being listening to the mantra. I do not remember the mantra or repeat the mantra mentally, because then the mind repeats many things.

 

Instead I make my whole being an ear to hear the mantra, and the mantra is coming from everywhere. This will not happen to you immediately in meditation, but when you have attained or accomplished something, then this will happen to you. Then, even if you do not want to do your mantra, it is not possible to avoid it. Even if you decide that you do not want to remember the mantra, it will not be possible.

 

Finally, even the mantra does not exist; only the purpose for which you repeat the mantra is there; you are There. The mantra might still be there, but it exists as an experience that overwhelms your whole being, and is not separate from you.

Guru Nanak felt that it would be improper to postpone Nama Smarana or remembering the Name of the Lord, even by a single breath, because no one could tell whether the breath that had gone in would come out or not. Nanak says, "We are men of one breath. I know not a longer time-limit".

 

Guru Nanak calls him alone a true saint who remembers the Name of the Lord with every incoming and outgoing breath. The ideal is practical and within the reach of every man. He tells the people not to lose any time but to begin at once. He also says that there are no barriers of race, class, caste, creed or colour which check the progress of any in reaching the goal. He realised the great truth of the brotherhood of religions. He preached the universal brotherhood of man and the fatherhood of God to all people.

Utter the Divine names of Lord Hari. In the age of Kali there is no other way of deliverance.

Having compassion of the Lord as the foundation, the one which has no rules, the one which can eradicate the force of Kali, Namakirtanam is the only resort.

 

You have wished for 'Dharma', 'Artha' (wealth), 'Kama' (ambitions) and 'Moksha' (God). All these four can be attained by performing service to Lord Sri Hari.

 

I am not able to find any way other than the repeated chanting of the Divine Names to gain the purushartas of dharma, artha, kama and moksha in this age of Kali

भगवान् वासुदेवस् तं भज तं प्रवणात्मना

 

धर्मार्थ-काम-मोक्षाख्यं य इच्छेच् छ्रेय आत्मनः

एकं ह्य् एव हरेस् तत्र कारणं पाद-सेवनम्

 

 

Narada says to Dhruva,

 

"The way shown by your mother is the one leading to your highest good. Chanting the Divines names of the Lord Vasudeva with single minded devotion is the best way.

If a person's life is according to his poorva vasana/destiny, How can a guru help him?

 

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

 

We may have taken thousands of births and committed millions of sins. No matter how colossal that figure maybe, it is unquestionably well within the realm of the finite. Guru's boundless grace though, is immeasurable, limitless and infinite.

 

The tapas and grace of the Sadguru can make up for his Karmas and takes him to the path of liberation quicker.

The rarest of the rare is getting a Uttama Guru. When you have a Guru, you can peacefully rest.

 

How do we know that the Guru is pleased with us?

 

No one else pleases me the most than the ones who Chant Mahamantra!

 

When a disciple leads his life with the clear understanding that it is the Guru who is running his life - adverse or otherwise, completely emptying the mind of personal likes and dislikes, seeing everything as Guru's leela, attains realization

 

Guru's Word is the root of Mantra

 

God is for all. Each and everyone have the right to attain God. Bhagavan Nama japa is the universal way

 

 

'Gurohu anugrahenaiva puman puranah prasantaiye'

 

We would feel that there is none as rich as we are because we have got such a Guru Ratnam

 

Bhakti is all about showing gratitude.

 

It is the Guru who shows that way, and the gratitude shown to such a Guru is Guru Bhakti

 

How to show our gratitude to our Guru?

 

The only act a true devotee can do is to chant Nama to express the gratitude to the Guru for the grace showered on the devotee.
