Divine Name redeems all - even the worst sinner

An old lady who was in a queue to get the blessings of Maha Periyava (Sri Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swamigal of Kaanchi Kaamakoti Peetam who is reverentially addressed as Nadamadum Deivam or the Walking God) wore an auspicious look. Wearing a pure white saree and the neck adorned with utrasum ( Rudraksha) bead and crystal (Spadiga) maala while the forehead completely covered with the holy ash (vibhuthi), she prostrated at the feet of Periyava in all due respect.

Mahaperiyava, by glancing her, ordered the nearby attendant to immediately bring 100 lemon fruits from the mutt's kitchen and the task was performed immediately.

"Hand this over to that grandma" said Periyava

The lady was so puzzled because usually the blessed material (prasad) will be one or two lemons that will be given to devotees but not in hundreds. She looked at Mahaperiyava with a question in her eyes.

"You are spending lot of money in buying lemons in the market to invoke the evil forces in those lemons. By performing the black magic you are eventually wrecking the lives of innocent peoples as a mean to earn money. Now you collect these lemons and it would be useful for your devilish work" Mahaperiyava said in a stern voice.

Her situation was so perplexed. Crying and wondering how He knew of her profession, she fell at the feet of Mahaperiyava and beseeched His forgiveness.

"You can utter these ill effected mantras to the ears of a cow and forget it once and for all. Never ever think of performing such black magic in your life. You should not look this as a mean to gain income. Spend the rest of your life by repeating the holy names of the lord (Bhagavan Nama) and be peaceful. That would suffice." replied Mahaperiyava.

And then He gave only the holy ash (vibuthi prasad) to her.

During his yatra Bhagawan Nama Bodhendral once went to a village called Thirukokarnam for propagating the Divine Name. He was initiating everyone in that village with Rama nama. A daasi came there to him and asked if she could also chant Rama nama and if he would initiate her. Bodhendral initiated her with Rama nama without any hesitation. Those days sanyasi's were not even allowed to speak to women and when he directly initiated a women that too a dassi, the villagers started speaking ill about him. After some days Bodhendral left the village. The daasi was chanting Rama nama religiously and would chant though out the day. Bodhendral happened to come back to that village after some time. By the time Bodhendral came back she had finished chanting crores of Rama nama. The dassi came to have a darshan of Bodhendral and after prostrating to him she left this world through Kabala moksham in front of her guru like how a yogi leave this world. The villagers were surprised seeing this and realised their mistake.

Bhagawan Nama cured plague in a city

Arcot was hit by plague once and there was no treatment for this then. The Nawab was also attacked by plague and it so happened that Bhagawan Nama Bodhendral was there in Arcot then. The people in the city went and told their problem to Bhagawan Nama Bodhendral, who then asked them to get together and chant Rama nama. Once they did as ordained by Bhagawan Nama Bodhendral everyone were cured and there was no trace of plague in the city. The Nawab then offered some land to His mutt and became His follower.
