Those who have come within the ambit of the Guru’s gracious look will be saved by the Guru and will not get lost.

Gems from Bhagavan - A Necklace Of Sayings By Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi

In truth, God and the Guru are not different. Just as the prey which has fallen into the jaws of a tiger has no escape, so those who have come within the ambit of the Guru's gracious look will be saved by the Guru and will not get lost.

Revolving in myself, The word that is the symbol of myself, The mortal limit of the Self was loosed,

Nama Article 6th July 2010

Source: The Ancient Sage, Alfred Tennyson

For more than once when I

Sat all alone, revolving in myself

The word that is the symbol of myself,

The mortal limit of the Self was loosed,

And past into the Nameless, as a cloud

Melts into Heaven. I touch'd my limbs, the limbs

Were strange not mine—and yet no shade of doubt,

But utter clearness, and thro' loss of Self

The gain of such large life as match'd with ours

Were Sun to spark—unshadowable in words,

Themselves but shadows of a shadow-world.

It is not ours to question why, but to submit to the Divine will, and pass through all experiences that fall to our lot, with a free and cheerful heart.

EPISTLES OF SWAMI RAMDAS

Ramdas repeats that it is not by reasoning that we understand the mystery of God's working. When a man suffers, apparently for no justifiable reason, there is truly a meaning and a purpose in it. If you do not accept the Karma theory, you can take it that God brings the soul of one gone astray back to Himself through suffering. That is His way.

You may ask why God should not employ an easier method. It is so, because certain results are attained by the adoption of only certain suitable means.

Hence it is not ours to question why, but to submit to the Divine will, and pass through all experiences that fall to our lot, with a free and cheerful heart.

‘Similarly, my friend,’ the master says, ‘you can sit like that forever, but you’ll never be meditating or understanding truth.’

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

If you develop love it is meditation. If you chant you shall develop love. So chanting is nothing but meditation.

Once an young man wanting to find Truth goes to see a famous guru. 'Master, can you teach me meditation and Truth?' he asks. The guru agrees, and the disciple immediately assumes the lotus posture, closing his eyes and breathing rhythmically to show what he knows.

The master doesn't say anything but picks up two stones from the ground and starts rubbing them against each other. Hearing the strange noise, the disciple opens his eyes and asks, 'Master, what are you doing?'

The guru answers 'I'am rubbing these stones against each other to polish them into a mirror so that I can look at myself.' 'The disciple laughs, 'but master, if you don't mind myself telling you: you'll never be able to make a mirror of these stones by rubbing them against each other. You can do that forever, and it won't work.'

'Similarly, my friend,' the master says, 'you can sit like that forever, but you'll never be meditating or understanding truth.'

Jnanadev says: I have become supremely fulfilled in the continual remembrance of Hari

Haripath - Sant Gnyaneshwar

Meaning

Only when you have the constant experience of God as equally existing in everyone and everything will you be truly established in samadhi. The same is not enjoyed by those having duality in the mind.

Only when the mind merges in this experience of Samadhi will it attain perfect understanding. There is no higher attainment than this.

When one attains God, all miraculous powers are also attained; but of what use are these powers by themselves without the bliss of samadhi? In such a case, they are only obstacles to one's progress on the path.

Jnanadev says: I have become supremely fulfilled in the continual remembrance of Hari
