But there is one organ on which we have full control - which can do what we truly want it to - the organ of speech

We have little control over what we see; even if we want to see only things divine, We are forced to see things not so fine.

We have little control over what we hear; even if we want to hear only divine voices, we cannot help hearing worldly noises.

We have little control over what we touch and feel; even if we want to touch only things godly, worldly things touch us so badly.

We have little control over what we smell; even if we want to smell only prasada of God, foul odours gets in on its own accord.

We have little control over what we eat; even if we want to partake of only what is soulfully consecrated to the Lord, we rarely get such prasada.

We have little control of where we go; even if we want to stay only in divine places, we cannot truly do so.

But there is one organ on which we have full control - which can do what we truly want it to - the organ of speech.

So if we want to use this sense organ totally for divine life, we can do so without much trouble. That is verily the greatness of Nama Sankirtan.

மஹாரண்யம் ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ முரளீதர ஸ்வாமிஜி :

தெய்வீகமானவற்றை மட்டுமே பார்க்க ஆசைப்பட்டால் கூட, அது நம் கையிலில்லை. தரக்குறைவான விஷயங்களை பார்க்க நேரிடுகிறது. தெய்வ கானம் மட்டும் கேட்க ஆசைப்பட்டால் கூட அதுவும் நம் கையிலில்லை. மட்டமான பாட்டுக்களும் காதில் விழத்தான் செய்கிறது. தெய்வீகமானவற்றை மட்டுமே தொடுவோம் என்று இருக்கவும் நமக்கு வாய்ப்பில்லை. உலகம் நம்மை தொடத்தான் செய்கிறது. தெய்வ பிரசாதத்தை மட்டுமே நுகர்வொமேன்று இருக்க வழியில்லை. துர்நாற்றத்தையும் நுகரத்தான் வேண்டி இருக்கிறது. பிரசாதம் மட்டுமே உட்கொள்வோம் என்றுமிருக்க முடியாது. பிரசாதமோ பகிர்ந்து கிடைப்பதில் மிக குறைவாக உள்ளது. புனித தலங்களுக்கு மட்டும் செல்வோம் என்று எப்படி இருக்க முடியும்? உலக வாழ்வு அதற்கு அனுமதி கொடுக்கவில்லை.

ஆனால், ஒரு புலனை மட்டும் நம் கையில் கொடுத்துள்ளார் இறைவன். அதுதான் வாய். அதன் மூலம் இறைவனின் நாமகீர்த்தனம் செய்து இறைவனை அடைய முடியும். அது நாமகீர்த்தனத்திற்கான ஒரு ஏற்றம்.
