Reading with Chanting will make you a leading student

As a student, is it important to focus on studies or should one be more devoted towards God?

To secure high percentage of marks - Whats is needed?

Chanting His name is done to achieve concentration

Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

Who would face the examinations boldly without any fear? Only one who has prepared well for the examination. Is that not so?

In the same way, death is verily the examination for the education of life! Who remains fearless of death? Only one who has spent this human life with Bhagavat Bhakti can remain fearless of death; all the others will fear facing death!

Death is the examination for the human life which is the education.

Oh, ye, sing! Oh, ye, sing! The HYMN which in a moment fulfills worldly and heavenly aspirations!

It will bestow all kinds of welfare, material and spiritual........

When we chant 'Krishna Krishna! Krishna Krishna! Krishna Krishna!'.....

You have wished for 'Dharma', 'Artha' (wealth), 'Kama' (ambitions) and 'Moksha' (God). All these four can be attained by performing service to Lord Sri Hari.

I am not able to find any way other than the repeated chanting of the Divine Names to gain the purushartas of dharma, artha, kama and moksha in this age of Kali

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

Bhagavatam says that Sage Narada instructed Veda Vyasa to write the Purana. As a Guru, Narada gives different mantras to devotees like Prahlada, Dhruva etc. to chant. Why is Mahamantra not mentioned? However, in Kali Santarana Upanishad, the very same Narada questions Brahma about overcoming the effects of Kali and the latter gives the Mahamantra. It is a little confusing to me!

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

Bhagavatam gives us a simple message that Nama Sankirtan is the way to liberation in Kali Yuga. That is the greatness of this Purana.

Then, the Kali Santarana Upanishad comes to our rescue, stating which specific Nama has to be chanted for liberation, in this Age (Kali Yuga).

Any Divine Name is precious. According to Kali Santarana Upanishad, the 'Hare Rama..' Mahamantra is capable of giving deliverance in this Kali Yuga.

This particular Maha Mantra is prescribed in the Shastras and has been chanted, followed, preached and lived for by great Mahans like Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu

It is the essence of all Vedas and scriptures and grants lasting peace by giving deliverance from all sufferings.

Utter the Divine names of Lord Hari. In the age of Kali there is no other way of deliverance.

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

If you really love God above everything else, His Name would give you joy instantly.

Nama Article 13th June 2012

Swami Papa Ramdas

There are so many people who repeat the Name, who say that they do not derive any benefit or joy from it. If you really love God above everything else, His Name would give you joy instantly. Any object that you love with all your heart gives you joy, by the mere thought of it. For example, a mother loves her child, and so the name of the child is very sweet to her. This is the experience of every mother. You have a friend whom you love. The very name of that friend gives you joy. Similarly, when you give your entire heart to God and take His Name, it must taste very sweet to you. When Ramdas was chanting the Name, he used to be intoxicated with joy. His ears were drinking the nectar of the Name with all avidity. Any sound other than that of the Name of God did not attract his ears.

But if one continues to chant steadfastly, one would be cured of the afflictions of this worldly life and could experience the true taste of Divine Names.

All such details are needed only by one who has no taste for Naama (Name)

How can I take delight in God's name?

When you once taste the Name, the other things will taste insipid.

Lord Siva himself does not cease to chant the Divine Name Rama even for a moment out of such taste and love for that Name

The dumb cannot explain the taste of the sugar he tastes. Likewise the one who is immersed in the Divine bliss will not be able to explain the eternal happiness being experienced

Try chanting the Holy Name and you will slowly realize the true peace.

I am doing my work honestly and sincerely. But I am not getting at most satisfaction in my work and also I am not getting any upward revisions from my seniors. Why? What is the solution for peaceful life? I want to live peacefully. Please answer my question.

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

Eternal peace is within you. As long as you are searching for it outside, or in the actions, then you can be sure that the peace you may thus get is only fleeting.

Try chanting the Holy Name and you will slowly realize the true peace.

As long as you search for peace outside yourself, you will not attain it. To find the peace within you, please chant the Mahamantra always, thinking of Lord Krishna and surrendering to Him.

The secret that will help you realize happiness

Everyone desires peace. But it does not come by easily. Neither the rich nor the poor enjoys peace

The true purpose of our existence is to realize God in ourselves. No other purpose is equal to or more significant than this.

To think 'What is the purpose of my Creation' is the very purpose of Lord's Creation

The true purpose of existence can be understood only if one attains a Guru

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
