Having compassion of the Lord as the foundation, the one which has no rules, the one which can eradicate the force of Kali, Namakirtanam is the only resort. I think again and again about this with in Myself

With sincerity, steadfast faith and devotion, if the Maha Mantra is chanted every day, then in due course of time, one can visibly see that the sorrows will automatically vanish

 

One can thus achieve eternal bliss by merely chanting the Maha Mantra

 

Little Prahlad by the Grace of His Guru Sage Narada, had an inexplicable love in Chanting the name of Lord Narayana. Prahlad's unstinted faith was the reason for The Lord to appear in a pillar.

 

Only due to merits earned in crores of births does Bhagavan Năma come on our tongue

           

People did not mind going to the ends of the earth to find a cure for the physical ailments which were much less important than the mental or spiritual.

 

Whosoever shall render obedience and steadfast attention unto Me,

Just as the flame always burns upward and water flows downward, the minds of all God's creations, from an ant to Brahma, run towards worldly affairs. Such externally turned mind hankers after materialistic pleasures, money, and status in order to satiate its desires.

 

The mind cannot remain steadfast even on these sensual pleasures to which it is attracted. The mind has new and endless wants everyday. Therefore, it is hard to turn the mind towards God.

Short story for children

 

Five persons attended a discourse by a Mahathma, who said that in the present age of Kali Mahamantra kirtan alone is enough for liberation.

 

These five persons wanted to do Mahamantra kirtan and thought over to identify a place to do the same.

• One person decided to buy a land for doing Mahamantra kirtan.
• Second person decided to a build a building there
• Third person decided to take care of expenses to provide water facilities
• Fouth person dedicated statues of Radha Krishna deities
• Fifth person came forward to provide food to all those who come and Chant there. 

All these were done as planned but none of the five persons sat there to do Mahamantra kirtan. They also lamented that no one came forward to do Mahamantra kirtan even after all these facilities were made by them.

 

Namakirtan is definitely the easiest way. But our illusion (maya) would not allow us to do even that. Hence we should not get caught in the illusion. One should always catch hold of the Divine Name with out indulging in any pomp and show.

ஐந்து நபர்கள் சேர்ந்து பிரவசனம் கேட்க போனார்கள். அன்று பிரவசனம் செய்த மஹான் இந்த கலியில் மஹாமந்திர கீர்த்தனம் ஒன்றே போதும். இதை இடைவிடாமல் கீர்த்தனம் செய்து வந்தாலே இந்த சாரமற்ற ஸம்ஸாரத்தை தாண்டிவிடலாம் என்று கூறியதை கேட்டார்கள்.

 

இந்த ஐந்து நபர்களும் பிரவசனம் முடிந்து திரும்பும் பொழுது, அவர் கூறியபடியே எப்பொழுதும் மஹாமந்திர கீர்த்தனம் செய்ய ஆசைப்பட்டார்கள். சரி நாம் மஹாமந்திர கீர்த்தனம் செய்வதற்கு இடம் வேண்டுமே? என்ன செய்வது என்று ஒருவர் தெரிவிக்கையில், ஐவரில் ஒருவர் சொன்னார் அதற்கான இடத்தை நான் வாங்கி கொடுத்து விடுகின்றேன் என்று. இரண்டாமவர் சொன்னார் அவர் இடம் வாங்கி தருவதாக இருந்தால் நான் என்னுடைய செலவில் கட்டிடம் கட்டி தந்து விடுகின்றேன் என்றார். மூன்றாமவர் நான் ஒரு  போர் போட்டு கொடுத்து தண்ணீர் தடையில்லாமல் கிடைக்கும்படி செய்து விடுகின்றேன் என்றார். நான்காம் நபரோ அப்படி கீர்த்தனம் நடக்கும் இடத்தில் ஒரு ராதா க்ருஷ்ண மூர்த்தி இருந்தால் அழகாக இருக்கும் அதை நான்  செய்து விடுகின்றேன் என்றார். ஐந்தாமவர் அப்படி நாம கீர்த்தனம் செய்பவர்களின் உணவுக்கு நான் ஏற்பாடு செய்து விடுகின்றேன் என்றார். இவர்கள் சொன்னபடியே எல்லாம் செய்தாகிவிட்டது. ஆனால் அந்த ஐவரில் ஒருவர் கூட நாம கீர்த்தனம் செய்ய உட்காரவில்லை. அதோடு மட்டும் அல்லாமல் நாங்கள் இவ்வளவு வசதி செய்து தந்தாலும் கூட நாமகீர்த்தனம் செய்வதற்கு யாரும் வருவதில்லை என்று குறைபட்டு கொண்டு, எல்லோரிடமும் சொல்லி கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

 

நாம கீர்த்தனம் ஸுலபமான வழி ஆனால் உன்னுடைய மாயை அதைக்கூட   செய்யவிடாது. குழந்தைகளே மாயைக்கு வசப்படாமல் வேறு எதிலும் ஆடம்பரம், ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் போன்றவற்றில் கவனம் செலுத்தாமல் கீர்த்தனம் ஒன்றையே பற்றி இருங்கள்.

But, Bhagavan Ramana Maharishi says that 'atma vichara' is very easy. Then why should I not practice 'Atma vichara'? Why do You advise me to do japa?

 

When a house is on fire, the smartest thing to do would be to find the fastest escape route out of the house instead of analyzing the cause for the fire.

 

Having compassion of the Lord as the foundation, the one which has no rules, the one which can eradicate the force of Kali, Namakirtanam is the only resort. I think again and again about this with in Myself

 

Due to My causeless mercy, I am very much pleased and enthusiastic to spread the glory of that Dharma which manifests itself in the Kirtan of my Divine Names

 

After ensuring all these if our mind is not pure there is no use of any of the above. For keeping our mind clean, Chanting the Names of Krishna is the only way.

 

Lord Vittalan hears and enjoys by singing and dancing to the tune of their Chanting of Divine Names. What else can one seek for ?

Srimad Bhagavatham (6:2:7)

 

अयं हि कृत-निर्वेशो जन्म-कोट्य्-अंहसाम् अपि

यद् व्याजहार विवशो नाम स्वस्त्य्-अयनं हरेः

 

A person is deemed to have done atonement (not only for the sins of this life but) even for the sins comitted through millions of lives (in the past)  in that he uttered, though in a helpless state, the name of Sri Hari which, apart from being the highest atonement for sins, is a direct means to the attainment of supreme bliss.

Which atonement ('prãyaschiita') is the best?

Don't stop chanting for any reason. The rest of the things will be taken care of automatically.

 

And through constant repetition of the Name after the removal of sin, new sins cannot accumulate; just as when the light is kept burning in the room it can never be dark again

 

For whom there is no sin ? Adisankara says "For one who chants the Divine Name"

 

The only atonement (Praayachitham) which alone is capable of nullifying all the errors completely....

Mantra is a combination of words that stands for the Supreme Reality. It is so set that by the utterance of it a rhythmic sound is produced which has a marvellous effect on both the mental and physical system.

 

The sound of the Mantra produces mental equilibrium and physical harmony. It tunes the entire human being with the eternal music of the Divine. It lulls the feverishness of the mind. This equanimity in turn awakens the sleeping Divine Consciousness, bringing the soul in direct contact with the in-dwelling and all-pervading Reality.

 

One great advantage of Mantra Yoga over other methods is that it is a discipline which is at once self-sufficient and independent. Truly, one who keeps the Mantra always on his lips can attain the infinite power, wisdom, love and vision of God.

Pillayar and Lord Krishna – One gets immediate benefits on remembering Lord Krishna and his Leelas by Sri Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swamigal [Maha Periyava] of Kaanchi Kaamakoti Peetam

 

Lord Krishna's mind is always on 'loka kshemam', that is the welfare of the world at large!

 

Lord Krishna was blamed to have stolen Syamanthaga Mani (a rare gem which grants prosperity).

 

Narada said to Krishna, "You happened to see the moon on a chathurthi, that too the most important one of Bhadrapada Chathurthi (Vinayaka Chathurthi) at that! That is why you are finding yourself on the wrong end of the bargains repeatedly. So please do Maha GaNapathi Vratam and worship him!"

 

Instead of thinking of PiLLaiyar to be only his nephew after all, KrishNa did the required pooja on both KrishNa and Sukhla Paktcha Chathurthi, as per customs and traditions.

 

Vinayaka told Krishna, "Since you have come in human form and living the life of a model ideal to be emulated, you decided to get affected by my general curse it seems! Now that you have shown the way out of the bind, your problems will vanish and you will come out shining brilliantly like the moon coming out of the clouds!", said the nephew to the uncle!

 

Krishna told Vinayaga, "Your darshan has cleared the confusion in my mind. It shows your big heart and liberal mindedness. It is not enough, if I am the only one benefited by this series of incidents. Please be kind enough to say something for the benefit of the public at large!"

 

It suited PiLLaiyar's intention too. Earlier, in the context of Chandra, people of the world had been debarred from looking at the Moon. As a counter to that, in the context of Krishna, he wished to grant a boon to people in general ! "Earlier I had said that, seeing the moon on sukhla chathurthi will entail much inconvenience, which can be got rid of by making amends only after seeing the 'moonraam pirai' or the crescent moon on the third evening after new moon, that is the 'thriteeyai'! That comes only after the passage of a month! Now I declare that who-so-ever hears the story of Syamantaka MaNi and thereby are reminded of Krishna and his experience, will get rid of the stigma of seeing the moon on the fourth evening after new moon. In general one will be relieved of all troubles that one may face and attain peacefulness on remembarance of Krishna by recalling this Syamanthaka Mani upakyana"!
