துஞ்சும்போது அழைமின் துயர்வரில் நினைமின்

துயரிலீர் சொல்லிலும் நன்றாம்,

நஞ்சுதான் கண்டீர் நம்முடைவினைக்கு

நாராயணாவென்னும் நாமம்.

(திருமங்கையாழ்வார் அருளிச்செய்த பெரிய திருமொழி)

 

Meaning:

 

Call out the Divine Name of the Lord with out fear, even when you are in death bed.

 

Chant the Divine Name while you face any misery.

 

Its better to Chant the Divine Name for removal of miseries and to rise up, with out cajoling ourselves with the thought that miseries are result of past sins / karmas.

 

Its always better for all those, who Chant to Divine Name, even when they are all well.

 

The sweet Divine Name which is the best to us, equally threatens our karmas.

 

Thus hails Sri Thirumangai Azhwar, the one who destroys the evil effects of Kali, about the greatness of Chanting the Divine Name "Narayana"
