एकस्मिन्नप्यतिक्रान्ते मुहूर्ते ध्यानवर्जिते।
दस्युभिर्मुषितेनेव युक्तमाक्रन्दितुं भृशम्।।
If one Muhurta is allowed to pass by without meditation (upon Hari), one must weep loud as if he was robbed by thieves.

As the leaping fire fanned by the wind burns away a forest of dry trees, so Vishnu, who is in the hearts of all the Yogins, destroys all the sins

Your kinsmen are merely after (your) wealth,
Unceremoniously will they send your body on the funeral pyre,
Knowing all this, strive for your (spiritual) welfare.
Why do you not chant this simple prayer " Hare Rama"

न तस्य कश्चिद् दयितः सुहृत्तमो
न चाप्रियो द्वेष्य उपेक्ष्य एव वा
तथापि भक्तान् भजते यथा तथा
सुर-द्रुमो यद्वद् उपाश्रितोऽर्थ-दः
Neither is anyone beloved of Him, much less His dearest friend, nor again is anyone unwelcome, much less hateful or even worthy of being treated with indifference. Nevertheless He loves His devotees (alone, who worship Him by Chanting His Divine Names), in the same way as they do, just as a wish-yielding tree grants the desire of men (only) when approached (by them)

BHAGAVATHA DHARMAM - Third Skandham - Swami Abhedananda
A man who remembers God at every inhalation and exhalation of his breath cannot commit any sin. Ignorance is rooted out by knowledge. To keep the knowledge steady we must surrender ourselves to God. If ignorance is not rooted out, Vasanas (tendencies) cannot be destroyed. Vasanas prompt man to commit sins. Vasanas are destroyed by self-surrender more effectively than by self control. Think of the sublime form of God without break. Recite the supreme names of God constantly. By his practice you will reach the abode of God.
