यो दुर्विमर्शपथया निज-माययेदं सृष्ट्वा गुणान् विभजते तद्-अनुप्रविष्टः

तस्मै नमो दुरवबोध-विहार-तन्त्र संसार-चक्र-गतये परमेश्वराय

 

Let us take refuge by Chanting the Divine Names of the supreme Lord who, having evolved this creation by His own creative energy and illusion – whose ways cannot be conceived – and pervades in it (as its inner controller) , apportions duties and their rewards for all actions, and whose past time plays cannot be comprehended and is mainly responsible for the movement of the wheel of transmigration

 

कलौ कल्मषचित्तानां पापद्रव्योपजीविनाम् |

विधिक्रियाविहीनानां गतिर्गोविन्दकीर्तनम् ||

 

In this Kali Yuga, where the mind is impure and the living is earned through sinful means and where living by prescribed rules is difficult, the only way to liberation is singing the Holy Name of God

हित्वात्म-पातं गृहम् अन्ध-कूपं वनं गतो यद्धरिम् आश्रयेत

 

Sri Prahlada says, "For all embodied souls whose mind is ever disturbed with the false ideas of 'I' and 'Mine', I hold this to be good, O Chief of demons, that having abandoned one's home, which degrades one's soul, and is just like a well whose mouth is hidden, one should go to the woods and take refuge in Sri Hari."

On reading this Ãlangudi Periyava left home. He wandered about as 'avadhoota' (naked). He reached the outskirts of Mudikondan village and sat below a tree. He was uttering the Bhãgavata sloka without stopping even for a moment. On the request of villagers he received 'kãshãyam' (the ochre robe), 'dhandam' (the staff of an ascetic) and 'kamandalu' (the vessel used for carrying water) and came into the village to narrate the Bhãgavatam. Why did he take sanyãs? To discourse on the Bhãgavatam!

Renouncing the home take refuge in the Holy feet of the fearless Lord Narasaimha by Chanting His Divine Names

Every grain that is eaten has the name (of the one who would consume it) on it! Since Lord sends each one down to the earth only after sending down whatever is needed by each, all these will come by even without your effort. Do chant the Divine Name and Lord will take care

 

God is very compassionate because everything in our life is predetermined. No effort need be taken by us in that direction. All we have to do is to turn and fix our mind on Him!

मान-स्पृहा-भयदैन्याधिमूलम्

हित्वा गृहं संसृति-चक्रवालं

नृसिंह-पादं भजताकुतोभयम् इति

 

Renouncing the home – which is the root avidity - the thirst for pleasures, attachment grief, anger, pride, longing for others wealth, fear, wretchedness and mental anguish and as such perpetuate the cycle of births and deaths. मनश् च भद्रं भजताद् अधोक्षजे आवेश्यतां नो मतिर् अप्य् अहैतुकी

 

I offer my respectful obeisances unto Lord Narasimahaya, the source of all power. Hail to the light of lights. Fully reveal yourself, O my Lord who possesses nails and teeth just like thunderbolts, burn down, burn down our latent desires. Swallow up, swallow up all darkness (in the form of ignorance in our hearts) We offer our worship oh Lord ! please appear in our hearts so that by Your mercy we may become fearless in the struggle for existence in this material world.

May all be well throughout the universe, and may the wicked become gentle. May all living beings contemplate good to one another with their intellect and may their mind resort only to that which is good by Chanting the Divine names; and may our thought as well as the thought of others be fixed on You with out any motive (whatsoever)

Sri Ramachandra Prabho! Why? When the Sun is so hot You stand as Rama in order to turn the Sun as cool as the Moon! So, You stand as Rama between 10 a.m. to 12 noon!

At dusk ('pradosha kã la') You stand as Lakshmi Narasimha, Oh! Lord!

At night ('sayana kã la') You stand as 'Dorai' (Lord) Venunã tha!

Gopinã tha! Gopijã ra! Gopi ka vallabha! Wearing such Names, You wander about at nights! You are verily the four 'kã la' murti.

Sant Tulasidas – Ramcharitamanas – Uttara kanda – 119

 

मोरें मन प्रभु अस बिस्वासा। राम ते अधिक राम कर दासा॥

राम सिंधु घन सज्जन धीरा। चंदन तरु हरि संत समीरा॥

सब कर फल हरि भगति सुहाई। सो बिनु संत न काहूँ पाई॥

अस बिचारि जोइ कर सतसंगा। राम भगति तेहि सुलभ बिहंगा॥

 

I have this conviction in my heart, my lord, that a servant of Sri Rama is greater than Sri Rama Himself. While Sri Rama is the ocean, the wise saints are like the rain-clouds; or (to use another metaphor) while Sri Hari is the sandal-tree the saints represent the winds (that diffuse its perfume). Devotion to Sri Hari, which is so delightful, is the reward of all spiritual endeavours; none has ever secured it except through a saint. Realizing this whoever cultivates the fellowship of saints finds Devotion to Sri Rama easy of attainment.

A Sadhaka should not concern himself with his body at all as all are pre-programmed and pre-determined by the will of the Lord
