Devotee.: Quite true. I see the force of the words. But yet are not mantras, etc., helpful?

 

BHAGAWAN RAMANA MAHARISHI.: They are helpful. What is mantra? You are thinking of the simple sounds of the mantra. Repetition of the same excludes all other thoughts. The single thought of the mantra japa remains.

 

That too drops away giving place to the Infinite Self, which is the mantra itself.

 

Mantra, dhyana, bhakti, etc., are all aids and finally lead to Swarupa, the Self, which is they themselves.

My mother does not like me visiting temples or coming to the Satsang. But shastras ordain that the mother has to be regarded as God and that one should abide by her words. What do I do?

As per the shastras a child has to obey the parents and abide by their words. Similarly, as per the shastras a wife has to abide by the words of her husband. In all worldly matters one has to abide by their words. However, if any one of them advices against spiritual matters it need not be followed.

 

Bharata did not accept the kingdom that Kaikeyi had got for his sake because it was against Lord Rama. When Hiranykashipu asked Prahlada to drink poison, he did so happily. Prahlada obeyed him in all matters except when he was told not to utter Bhagavannaama (Lord's Name). So was Meera. She obeyed her husband Rana Kumbha in all matters. But she did not obey only when she was told not to do Krishna Bhakti. But God has indeed showered grace on all of them. Therefore, it is not obligatory to listen to anybody's advice against God.

One who has no set goal has a wavering mind. His thoughts are multifold......whats the way out?

 

Why not take to Mahamantra alone and do it in an intense manner with complete faith, instead of confusing yourself with a multitude of practices?

 

If a Sadhak has been able to stick on to his path and is successful in continuing to perform his Sadhana with a steady mind over a long period of time, that is verily the greatest miracle.

Likewise, it would suffice if we do not block the Grace that is being sent out.

The easiest way to attain the Grace of Bhagavan is to chant his Nãma

That love, can sprout only by his grace. His grace descends when we chant the Mahamantra.
