Likewise, it is enough, if we know that someone called God exists and the only way to reach him is Chanting His Name.

Nama Article 31st October 2013

Sri Sri Krishna Premi Swamigal

It is enough that you know the destination and the right path to reach it. The other details about the place can be verified in person. Likewise, it is enough, if we know that someone called God exists and the only way to reach him is Chanting His Name. The rest can be known and experienced in person.

The absolute pure consciousness is God. He is within you and He is all-pervading; omnipresent. There are no two things in this world. He alone exists and no body else.

"My Father alone exists, nothing else; nobody else"

Thus gradually developing the conviction that God alone exists and the ego does not count

One has to believe that the Lord exists. But it should not stop there. One should have total faith in Him and invoke His divine grace by chanting the Maha Mantra.

Having compassion of the Lord as the foundation, the one which has no rules, the one which can eradicate the force of Kali, Namakirtanam is the only resort. I think again and again about this with in Myself

Yogi then said to him, "Advaita and Visishtadwaita are for my Masters like Ramana Maharishi and Papa Ramadas. For you and for this beggar Rama Năm is enough. Get out!"

Opinion of Krishna on essence of Gita

In Srimad Bhagavatham it is fully stressed that only Namakirtan is enough.

This beggar has no other message to give. Let them remember the name of Rama, Krishna and Shiva

As per Lord Krishna, the mind can be completely subdued only by repeated practice of remembering God's name

Nama Article 29th October 2013

CHAPTER VI : MEDITATE AND REALISE

According to certain commentators, the entire Gita is an exposition of the great aphorism (TAT TWAM ASI) "You are that'. This chapter is the transition from the yoga of purification of the aspirant (TWAM) to the Yoga of illumination or revelation of that (TAT).

The question arises as to how to control the mind (which is the main base for Sadhana). As per Lord Krishna, the mind can be completely subdued only by repeated practice of remembering God's name (bringing the mind again and again to the Lord as many times as it goes astray) and through detachment i.e., abandoning all desires for enjoyment of worldly objects

Please check these: Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

Rama Rahasya Upanishad says, "The first letter 'ra' stands for the term 'tat' (That), and 'ma' stands for the term 'tvam' (You). Together "Rama" means the mahavakya "tatvamasi"

The aim of spiritual education is liberation or Jivan Mukti.

By chanting the Name of Bhagavãn one attains Atma Jnana, Jivan Mukti state

Those who are Jivan Muktas today began only in this manner. (Every journey starts with a single step.)

The one whose lips are incessantly chanting the Lord's Name is verily the Jivan Mukta (liberated soul).

How true are the words of a Mahan that the one on whose tongue God's Divine Name resides is verily the one who has been freed from bondage –a Jivan Mukta!

A self realized Jivan Mukta appears once in a generation.  If you are lucky, you will get the company of such a person.

One who takes refuge in ME and remains egoless is verily ‘nirgunam’; the ‘shraddha’ in worshipping ME is verily ‘nirgunam’.’ The food that is offered to Bhagavăn is verily ‘nirgunam’

Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

In 'ekădasa skandam' (11th canto) 25th chapter of Bhăgavatam, Bhagavăn says 'thinking of ME constantly is verily 'nirguna jnăna'; to live in ME is verily 'nirguna văsam'; one who takes refuge in ME and remains egoless is verily 'nirgunam'; the 'shraddha' in worshipping ME is verily 'nirgunam'.'

The food that is offered to Bhagavăn is verily 'nirgunam'.

Everything in nature is grouped under three qualities - 'Sattva (quality of goodness/purity), Rajas (emotions such as anger, passion) and Tamas (lethargy). 'Nirgunam' means that which is free of all these three qualities

Those who are Jivan Muktas today began only in this manner. (Every journey starts with a single step.)

The one whose lips are incessantly chanting the Lord's Name is verily the Jivan Mukta (liberated soul).

Thus the identity of the Personal God with Nirguna Brahman is established at the very outset

Namakirtan removed such agonizing stomach pain of a Vedanta Sanyăsin......

If you discriminate in this way, you will understand that the continual remembrance of Hari is the supreme goal to be attained.

Rama, Govinda, Hari, Murari, Mukunda-whatever name he invokes, it is always the Nirguna or the attributeless Lord that is meant

Tulsidas says, "As by a bridge we can go to both the banks of a river, even so by God's Name we can attain both the Saguna aspect of God and the Nirguna."

Rama Nama gets exactly the same importance in Saguna Upasana as does the Pranava ('Om') Mantra in Nirguna Upasana

Kabir Says, Do not lose the Supreme Name, the Name of the Lord.

More than the comfort of uninterrupted experience of Supreme Self of attribute-less nature, chanting the name of SrI rAma is a better comfort.

By meditating on the form of God, and chanting His Name, we can gradually go beyond all names and forms and ultimately reach the Nirguna aspect.

By chanting the Name of Bhagavăn one attains Atma Jnana, Jivan Mukti state

One should call out the Lord’s name without ‘lajja’ (shyness/embarrassment). One who calls out Govinda goes to Sri Vaikunta

Nama Article 26th October 2013

Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

In two Kshetras one can hear the incessant (loud) chanting of the Lord's Name. One is Tirupathi and the other Guruvayur. In Tirupathi one can hear the loud calling out of 'Elu kondala vãda Govinda! Govinda!' It is relay chanting. Someone shouts out with the rest joining him. When this person stops you find someone else picking it up. The 'sãnidhya' here is only because of the incessant chanting of Govinda! Govinda! by the crowd of devotees visiting the Kshetra. In Guruvayur one can ever hear the devotees calling out loudly, "Hey! Guruvayurappa! Nãrãyana!" One should call out the Lord's name without 'lajja' (shyness/embarrassment). One who calls out Govinda goes to Sri Vaikunta

Shri Sadguru replied

Shri Krishna, the fond lover of the devotees, does not get pleased with yoga, yajna, penance, wisdom and austerities. He is pleased with devotion alone.

Prahlada listed the nine means of developing devotion. Among them chanting alone is enough to satisfy Shri Krishna. Enchanted with Nama kirtan, Shri Govinda dances merrily in that place where His devotees sing in praise of Him with great transcendental devotion.

Why not take to Mahamantra alone and do it in an intense manner with complete faith, instead of confusing yourself with a multitude of practices?

Let the one who cannot do Bhakti go out to do tapas!

What is there in this world that devotion to the Lord cannot do?

And what is the result of devotion to the Lord ? The immediate relaisation of His Abode and one's own nature

Guru is God in human form

Man feels that only the most difficult is the highest, the most difficult way is the best way. This is a very wrong notion

That love, can sprout only by his grace. His grace descends when we chant the Mahamantra.

When can one earn Guru krupa? When God decides to bless a person, he receives Guru's grace. One has to be blessed with Bhakti; and that is blessed only by God/Guru.

Reciting the Divine Names of Lord Hari, one can overcome the most formidable delusion of mind.

There are many ways. But the simplest and the easiest way is by chanting the "Hare Rama.." Mahamantra.

They are for those who don't believe in simple prayers.

Bhagawan Nama Bodendra Saraswati Swamigal puts forth his findings in the following words, "Since it is so easy and simple, none takes to it!

Would it not amount to grave injustice if one shows a difficult path to the world?

The devotion, which he asks the people to offer, must result in the effacement of the self. When devotion is attained pride departs

All Sadhanas are possible only when we are endowed with a human body........Not to make use of the body in this manner is equivalent to committing suicide.

Nama Article 24th October 2013

Srimad Bhagavatham (11:20:17)

"All Sadhanas are possible only when we are endowed with a human body. This body of ours is the most efficient boat. Make the Guru the oarsman who will guide the boat and take it across the ocean. The Lord's Grace is the favourable wind in which the boat can sail swiftly and you can easily cross the ocean of Samsara (phenomenal world). Not to make use of the body in this manner is equivalent to committing suicide.''

Bhagavãn has given you all the faculties. The Lord has blessed you with eyes, ears, mouth, hands, legs, etc. Should you not utter the Divine Name? Would you get the human birth again?

"Even the dog eats food. But can it chant 'Bhagavan Nãma' - the Name of the Lord? ('Nãyum kooda soru thinnum Nãmam pãdumo?')

Human birth is meant only for the purpose of attainment of Bhagavan

Three things which are rare indeed and are obtained only due to the grace of God

To have the opportunity to serve a Mahatma in some way is indeed the rarest of the rarest.

When Bhagavan decides a janma to be the very last one, the man attains a Sadguru. Don't loose the "present" moment, the gift of lord.

Take the Name constantly. That is the best Seva.

But if I can make a person chant the name of Hari, I consider this a bigger achievement............

To collect people living around one's home and help them chant the Lord's Name is verily service to the Guru. Or to follow the special instruction given to him/her by the Guru is verily 'service' to the Guru.

Serve the elders, poor and needy and people in misery. That is verily Guru Seva.
