Srimad Bhagavatham 7:6:1

In this life, a wise human should engage and involve oneself in the path followed by exalted devotees, namely Bhagavatha Dharma, right from childhood. Because human birth is most rarely achieved, and although temporary like other beings, it is meaningful because in human life alone one Chant the Divine Names of the Lord.

The only course advisable for a man in this world is to betake himself to the feet of Lord Vishnu for He is the Lord and the beloved friend, nay, the very self, which is full of love, of all created beings.

Srimad Bhagavatham adds that one should learn Bhagavatha Dharma (which is nothing but chanting of the Divine Name of God) from such a Guru by which Sri Hari is pleased.

Only in the company of Sadhus is 'premai' experienced in one's heart.

மனிதப்பிறவியும் முக்தியில் ஆசையும், மகான்களின் ஸஙகமும் உந்தீபற! அரிதினும் அரிதாமென்று உந்தீபற!

To have the opportunity to serve a Mahatma in some way is indeed the rarest of the rarest.

Which is rare for people to get ? Adisankara says, "Devotion to Hari."

Three things which are rare indeed and are obtained only due to the grace of God

To come in contact with a great soul is indeed the rarest of the rare. The results of such an association is subtle, incomprehensible and unfailing in its effect.

The Sanathana Dharma is universally true. While the Dharma cannot be changed, the alternative is to adapt the right kind of Dharma, apt for the age. That is verily the Bhagavata Dharma, which is nothing but chanting of the Divine Name of God

Lord can be satisfied with pure devotion alone and all other practices are ostentation.

Srimad Bhagavatham 7:7:52

न दानं न तपो नेज्या न शौचं न व्रतानि च

प्रीयतेऽमलया भक्त्या हरिर् अन्यद् विडम्बनम्

Neither charity, nor penance, neither sacrifice nor purificatory rites and vows can one satisfy Lord Hari. He can be satisfied with pure devotion alone and all other practices are ostentation.

Only in the company of Sadhus is 'premai' experienced in one's heart.

That love, can sprout only by his grace. His grace descends when we chant the Mahamantra

Mechanical chanting is the only starting point we can attempt. It matures to love by grace.

What is there in this world that devotion to the Lord cannot do?

Repetition of Name will create Love. Hari will be yours when you attain Love

Feeling blessed, "How fortunate am I to have been blessed with this Nama!" one should drown Bhagavan in 'premai' - love

I can worship God, but how can I love LORD KRISHNA? You can love Him if you understand that Sri Krishna is pure love and love alone. In order to realize that you have to continuously chant the Maha Mantra.

Pure love towards me is developed by hearing My praises, having My darshan, meditating on Me and by Chanting My Divine names and glories.

'Similarly, my friend,' the master says, 'you can sit like that forever, but you'll never be meditating or understanding truth.'

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

The path of loving devotion to Shri Krishna, or the Bhakti-Yoga is on a plane higher than Dhyana Yoga or meditation. Among the various dimensions of Bhakti-Yoga, the chanting of the Divine Names of Shri Gopala is the best.

Let the one who cannot do Bhakti go out to do tapas!

What is there in this world that devotion to the Lord cannot do?

Man feels that only the most difficult is the highest, the most difficult way is the best way. This is a very wrong notion

That love, can sprout only by his grace. His grace descends when we chant the Mahamantra.

When can one earn Guru krupa? When God decides to bless a person, he receives Guru's grace. One has to be blessed with Bhakti; and that is blessed only by God/Guru.

Reciting the Divine Names of Lord Hari, one can overcome the most formidable delusion of mind.

There are many ways. But the simplest and the easiest way is by chanting the "Hare Rama.." Mahamantra.

They are for those who don't believe in simple prayers.

Bhagawan Nama Bodendra Saraswati Swamigal puts forth his findings in the following words, "Since it is so easy and simple, none takes to it!

Would it not amount to grave injustice if one shows a difficult path to the world?

God gives whatever is required (by His devotee), removes whatever is not needed, leads the devotee in the path suited to him/her; Since Bhagavãn takes utmost interest in the devotee's needs the latter will not earn/attain any 'siddhi'

Even 'Eka Nãma' (single Name of the Lord) is 'gãna'! The highest form of 'Gãna'! Rama Nãma! The chanting of just Rama Nãma itself is 'Gãna'!

Nama Article 15th January 2012

Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

It is 'cutchery' (music concert) when we try to please humans but a Bhajan when we try to please Krishna!

What is 'Gãna' (music)?

Even 'Eka Nãma' (single Name of the Lord) is 'gãna'! The highest form of 'Gãna'! Rama Nãma! The chanting of just Rama Nãma itself is 'Gãna'! This is a "Mahã Mantra' ( a great mantra)! Innumerable Mahãtmãs have attained the highest state through just this one Mantra. One need not be in awe of any other path.

If we take a tight grip on this one path, by repeatedly saying the Nãma, we can earn everything - wealth, health, harmony in family and outside, long life and Moksha.

Adi Sankara has said, "Prosperity overflows in the home that reverberates with Hari Nãma Sankirtana!." This Kirtan itself will earn everything for you. But all that is required is deep involvement in the Kirtan.

Jnăna dăna” (imparting spiritual knowledge) is the highest of all services that can be rendered to mankind

Nama Article 27th March 2013

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji's Namadwaars and GOD satsangs across the world celebrated Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Jayanthi by chanting Mahamantra, Annadhanam to needy and Nagarakirtan on 26th March 2013

This is celebrated as 'Holi' Day.

After Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhuji's descent on earth on this day, it is also a 'holy' day.

Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

Srimad Bhagavatam 11:29:26

य एतन् मम भक्तेषु सम्प्रदद्यात् सु-पुष्कलम् |

तस्याहं ब्रह्म-दायस्य ददाम्य् आत्मानम् आत्मना ||

"Ya Yetanmama Bhakteshu sampradadhyăt su-puskalam |

tasyăham brahmadăyasya dadămyătmănamătmana" ||

Lord Krishna, in his final instructions to His devotee and disciple Uddhava, says, "Jnăna dăna" (imparting spiritual knowledge) is the highest of all services that can be rendered to mankind.

By 'Jnăna dăna' the Lord means the Divine knowledge that will take people across the ocean of transmigration ('samsăra săgara') and not mere worldly knowledge.

Well! What is Divine Knowledge? It is verily the knowledge of the way to Lord Krishna! And, should not the way be the simplest one whence people caught in the turmoil of Kali Yuga cry for a way of escape? And, that simple, easy route of escape is verily NAMASANKIRTAN – chanting the Divine Name of the Lord!

The 'cursed' Kali Yuga, which is said to be the Age of the wicked is also a 'blessed' one, for, in this Age mere uttering the Divine Name of the Lord would suffice to reach the Lotus Feet of the Lord!

Our Mahans, the torchbearers of Sanatana Dharma, have always advocated only words of the Vedas; for, the Vedas is verily the Lord's intellect. The Vedas have shown innumerable ways to attain the Feet of the Lord. However, the chosen way should adhere to the words of the Vedas and also suit the Age of our existence. And, the Maha Mantra "Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare! Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare!" is a way advocated by the Vedas as well the tailor made for this Age.

Chaitanya Mahăprabhu, a great scholar that he was, threw away everything and took to incessant chanting of 'eka năma'

Mahaprabhu made lions and tigers sing and dance to the tune of Nama Kirtan. What does this go to show? If you chant the Maha Mantra constantly, the whole world will be at your feet!

While those who have mastered the Mantras to provide relief to mundane worldly pains like scorpion bite etc. hesitate to disclose the Mantras, how compassionate is our Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who has generously given to everyone the greatest of Mantras - the Mahamantra for the welfare of the entire Universe!

Catch hold of the Mahamantra. Chant it continuously, whenever you get time and leave the rest to Him.

When a person utters the Divine Name of Shri krishna, be he a fool, immediately Shri Gauranga (Chaitanya Mahaprabhu) bows down before him in reverence.

I do not know the full potency or the fruitful benefit of chanting the Divine Names. The sweet Name of Shri Krishna dances on my tongue of its own accord.

The fruit attained through the chanting of this single Name of the Lord cannot be attained through any other means. This is the easiest method.

One can attain Liberation if he Chants the Single Name of the Lord again and again. Chanting the Name of the Lord is like traveling in the right direction

Though the Sun's rays are spread equally all over, yet when they are passed through a lens thus directing them through a single point they have the power to burn up

Is it then surprising if such a mind does not remain steadfast on a single path of worship?

Chanting a single Divine Name of the Lord ('eka Năma') helps the chanter deepen his concentration and also helps in sustaining the chanting for long hours effortlessly

Anantha janmanjche(m) thapa eka nama l

A single Divine Name is so powerful that one cannot commit as many sins as it can erase even if he were to take a vow to commit only sins.

Just as an arrow travelling towards its target, the Naama does not stop its work until it shows God to us.

This is celebrated as 'Holi' Day.

After Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhuji's descent on earth on this day, it is also a 'holy' day.

Chaitanya Mahăprabhu, a great scholar that he was, threw away everything and took to incessant chanting of 'eka năma' (One Name) 'Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare! Hare Răma Hare Răma Răma Răma Hare Hare!' Occasionally he would recite a sloka from the Bhăgavatam. Likewise, in Ănandăshram only 'Sri Răm Jaya Răm Jaya Jaya Răm' is being chanted. They go around a lighted lamp ('kuttu villakku') singing only this one Name of Răma as Divya Năma kirtan. Mahătmas such as Bodendra Swami, Thiagaraja Swami, Yogi Rămsuratkumar, Papa Rămdăs performed incessant chanting of Răma Năma. Did this not take them to the highest state? Năma japa is very powerful. It brings in 'siddhis' (supernatural faculties). There once lived an old lady known by all as 'thukkiri pătti'. She was a child widow who took to incessant chanting of Năma of the Lord. She did crores and crores of Năma japa. She had kept count of the Năma by drawing lines on the walls of her room. When anyone approached her with problems she used to give him or her the Năma, which helped him/her a great deal. If the rich approached her she asked them to invite Bhagavatăs home to get Năma chanted and honour them. To the poor she gave the Năma from her own tapas. God helps those who call out to Him. So, call out to Him. Let the Name of the Lord play on your tongue always because only then will it come to you at the moment of crisis-just as Draupadi called out to Krishna

Jnana Yoga is akin to intellectually understanding how to solve a difficult mathematical problem.
