Prayers for rains answered
There were several fervent prayer requests to HH Maharanyam Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji for rains from all parts of Tamilnadu following deficient rainfalls in the past one year. Sri Swamiji ordained during mid-January that Akanda Mahamantra Kirtan for 7 days (Nama Sapthaham) be organized from 13th Feb to 19th Feb 2013 in all Namadwaars and GOD satsangs across India to chant with a specific prayer request by all participants on each day for bountiful rains in Tamil Nadu.
All Namadwaars and several GOD satsangs in various districts enthusiastically organized the Nama Sapthaham and started praying fervently for the common cause of bountiful rains and prosperity. In the first two days of 13th and 14th there were reports of rains in various districts and towns of Tamilnadu like Tuticorin, Virudhunagar, Aruppukottai, Kovilpatti, Tiruvannamalai, Sivakasi, Tirunelveli, Thanjavur, Tiruthuraipundi, Madurai, Theni, Vathalagundu, Periyakulam, Cumbam etc. During the 15th to 17th, there were bountiful rains in Vellore, Mangalur, Ambur, Gudiyatham, Katpadi, Chennai etc. Water levels in major dams in Tamilnadu were on the rise including Manimuthar dam, Mettur dam etc following good rains in the catchment areas. There was record rainfall of close to 300 mm across Tamilnadu in the past 5 days from 13th to 17th Feb 2013 which was very useful for standing crops and drinking water requirements.
Wishes of gratitude are flowing in from people of all walks of life for the timely prayers which yielded immediate results. Namadwaar prays with folded hands to the Holy feet of our beloved Sri Swamiji for making this happen and continues to pray for good rains in the forthcoming days.
