Lord Krishna's wish

Source: http://www.namadwaar.org/answers/questions.html

Being in a foreign country, I spend my life in worldly pleasure even though I want to come out of it. I am my Guru's devotee for more than 10 years and yet I am not ready to sacrifice my meaningless life for the sake of my Guru's mission, while some of them, devote their life for my Guru's service at their first darshan. Why am I not ready to give my meaningless life to such a noble cause?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

That is because Lord Krishna may think of taking you to His service at a later time.

Rama in the Form of the Divine Name 'RAMA' redeems all - even the worst sinner

Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

What is Bhagavata dharma? Showing the way to the Almighty even to the lowliest of the lowly is Bhagavata dharma. Vaideeka dharma is very strict in its discipline. It curses people who do not follow the scriptures, to hell. But Bhagavata dharma shows the way even to a sinner. Thus, 'Ahalya sapavimochana' (lifting of the curse on Ahalya) is Bhagavata dharma.

The Divine Name of the Lord ('Bhagavan Nãma') has the power to redeem one and all. Was not Ajamila, the worst sinner, redeemed for the mere uttering of the Divine Name? He had named his youngest son 'Narayana' (the Divine Name of the Lord). He was deeply attached to this son. At the last moment of his life he called out 'Narayana!' addressing the son. But it was enough for the deeply Compassionate Lord. He saved Ajamila. Ahalya was redeemed from the curse and made immaculate by the dust of the Holy Feet of Rama. And, in today's world Rama still exists in the form of His Divine Name 'R A M A'! 'Name' and the 'Named' are one and the same. They are not different from each other. So, would not Rama in the Form of the Divine Name 'RAMA' redeem all - even the worst sinner?

Sant Kabir

Sant Kabir says

"I am Thy servant! I am Thy servant! I am Thy servant! Please grant me the real name.

You are beyond form and colors.

Please bless me with food which is enough to satisfy my hunger and a cloth to cover my body and allow me to stand at your door steps. Leaving the desires and anger, bless me to sing your divine names.

I have applied a special eye lotion called “Guru’s grace”. Now I don’t see anything except Ram.

Sant Kabir

गुरुकृपा अंजन पायो मेरे भाई

राम बिना कछु देखत नाही ॥

Oh brother, I have applied a special eye lotion called "Guru's grace". Now I don't see anything except Ram.

I see Rama within and outside. Where ever I see there is Rama and only Rama.

जागत राम सोवत राम ।

सपनेमें देखौं राजा राम हि

In the awakened state, in the state of deep sleep and in the state of dream, I see Rama and only Rama.

Only a liberated person can awaken and liberate the person who is ignorant.

Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

The one who is asleep cannot wakeup a sleeping person. Only a person who is awake can wakeup a sleeping person.

Similarly, how can an ignorant person awaken the supreme bliss in another ignorant person?

The liberated one has woken up from ignorance.

Hence, only a liberated person can awaken and liberate the person who is ignorant.

I am pretty sure chanting the Name will definitely bring you good fortune

Source: http://namadwaar.org/cherishedmemoirs/?action=news&id=1241201398

Once a devotee came to Sri Swamiji and complained that he was not at all doing well. He said that he did visit an astrologer and the astrologer suggested that if he changes his name, it will bring good fortune to him.  This gentleman wanted to confirm this with Sri Swamiji.

Sri Swamiji smiled and told him,

'I know not if changing the name will bring you good fortune, but

I am pretty sure chanting the Name will definitely bring you good fortune'

If only they had given even a small part of their time to japa or singing the Lord's praises sans any of these worldly goal, how easily would they have realized the Almighty?

The thirst from within

Whenever I see people perform rituals such as Homas and some special poojas to invoke the blessings of the Almighty or see Bhagavathas performing bhajans for longs hours, at times throughout the night, I wonder why they are not able to do the same Japa or chant the Lord's Name in solitude at their home, to attain the same goal [liberation]!

I asked myself, 'Is it their longing for tangible worldly benefits like money, attention, appreciation or a combination of these that motivates them? If only they had given even a small part of their time to japa or singing the Lord's praises sans any of these worldly goal, how easily would they have realized the Almighty?'

However, I immediately realized that one needs to have the motivation from within to 'Realize the Lord' . And, this motivation is possible if and only if they have the "GRACE OF A TRUE GURU".

This indeed is the path to Moksha!

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare

God knows us better than anyone else, cares about us more than we do ourselves and is waiting eagerly for us to call Him.

Source: http://www.namadwaar.org/diary/?action=entry&id=1274047330

The Power of the Name

Let us assume that a person named Gopal is walking on the street. You are in your house and call out 'Gopal' to summon your own brother named Gopal who lives with you. This Gopal (stranger on the road) responds to your call though he does not know you at all, does not care about you or is not expecting to be called by you at all. Such is the power of the 'Name'!

When this is the case, God knows us better than anyone else, cares about us more than we do ourselves and is waiting eagerly for us to call Him.

So if we throw our hands up in the air, call out His Divine Name with faith and surrender, will He not rush to us in a flash... So the easiest way to reach God is to call out His Divine Name - the Holy 'Hare Rama' Mahamantra.
